The evidence of the NCA official on July 13 will be interesting.

I am not sure what PCB is going to achieve here. My understanding is simple -
1. If they have any exhibitable evidence that SK took money or verbally agreed to play couple of dot balls - he is gone for 2 years, at least; regardless of how much he accepted or if he had played those dots as per merit or not, or his intention changed after accepting the 'deal'. I don't know what these experts are trying to prove in their testimony by validating the merit of batting against those 2 balls - his act (taking money/agreeing for a spot fixing) is more important than his final intention.
2. If they don't have any exhibitable evidence - whatever these experts say, SK would get away with. If they can't prove something with evidence, don't think SK will let them free passage to ban him, because some Dean Jones, MoYo or Aquib Javed thought that he purposefully played those dots.
May be for circumstantial evidence (in this case, may be not reporting in due time), both parties (SK & PCB) can come up to a middle point - PCB giving him a clean chit with 6 months ban (already served), 5/10 years suspended ban (applicable for any such further issues in next 5/10 years) & monitory fines/demotion in central contract - on top of that SK might agree to throw some bones to PCB officials as token of good gesture - tokens like Patek Philippe watch, iMac pro, designer hand made suite, family travel package to Bali or Maldwips in 5 star accommodation with 1st class air ticket, casino pass ....... sky is the limit for innovation in this regard. But, without exhibitable proof, PCB won't be able to ban SK or do some significant damage to his career.
What I feel is, SK has done something wrong, for which PCB doesn't have concrete proof, but they have blown the trumpet too early & out of proportion - now got their tail caught between SK & ICC. Sharjeel will fight till end if they try to finish his career while after so much hue & cry - PCB has to answer ICC ACU, if they are to give SK a clean chit. These testimonies are probably to convince ICC, more than anything else. I do expect SK to play against SRL & PCB is building their story to cover for ICC.
Lol can this whole episode just end already? I get the feeling that Sharjeel is innocent and the whole process is just being dragged on for too long, this looks like a failed case.
+1. I don't know why PCB lawyer is rejoicing the testament of Aqib Javed when he has clearly said he was not shown any evidence of the fixing by PCB.The fact that even Aqib, the person who PCB called themselves to testify, wasn't shown the actual evidence and only told a story makes me feel that they don't really have that strong a case.
Where is the proof?![]()
How could the PCB have banned them without proof? This is not some washed up cricketer we are talking about. Sharjeel was a main-stay in this team. He knows he will still be the first name on the team sheet once he is let off. He will fight this till the end. They should have just banned them both right there and then as soon as they caught them and after they allegedly admitted guilt and were on their way home. Now it's become too drawn out and messy with sleazy lawyers like Latifs involved. Definitely seems like the PCB doesn't have enough evidence to actually prove it in a court of law (or even before their own appointed panel by the looks of it)

PCB were trying to be over smart and pressurize both Sharjeel and Latif into admitting whatever they did (or didnt do). That plan backfired horribly and now they are sitting ducks desperately trying to save themselves the embarrassment by drawing this out. I highly they have any proof besides a few Whatsapp messages lol.
My point was that if they really had "caught them red-handed" and the players really had "admitted their guilt" as was claimed by Sethi and co, then they should have had a summary judgement and banned them outright, not just from the PSL.
Now over time it seems increasingly likely that the PCB don't have enough evidence to convict, and the longer it gets dragged out the worse. By this point the players also are feeling they can get away with it. Overall this whole affair has been poorly managed.
Personally I have little doubt that they were involved with bookies in some way or the other, and feel there should be a zero tolerance policy. Don't really care how big a player you are, that sort of thinking is what let all of that shady business happen during the 90s. But now it seems like they will get away with minor bans at the most.
I wonder how much aquib got paid by pcb to be invited as an "expert witness". This witness basically said nothing. How stupid is this. Pcb really have no case after this. Also goes on to show someone like aquib is corrupt. So much for removing corruption from cricket, yet he comes on pcb's invite (bribe) to be as an expert witness.
