never thought id see the day the BCCI were commended for running a million dollar circus in the midst of a pandemic. if there wasn't any additional positive cases today they would have carried on like nothing happened that's the worst part. There hand was forced. if anything for once PCB acted with more sense than BCCI

Lol his response and post was so predictable, that was the ���� part. He is so out of ideas that in his comparison with the BCCI and PCB, he forgot that the PCB actually made the decision to halt the PSL way more swiftly in comparison to the BCCI not once but twice in two seasons when the financial implications of postponement were far more severe for the PCB in comparison to the BCCI. The BCCI in comparison had the PCBs psl example to learn from for a whole month, they knew about the surging out of control pandemic for weeks, they ignored calls from stakeholders to cancel the IPL for weeks given the humanitarian crisis going on in India, they had the largest bank balance in the world to implement the best bio secure bubble in the world, inspite of all these unparalleled advantages they failed badly and their eventual decision to cancel was not even a unilateral principled decision to cancel given the human catastrophe going on around them but simply because the league just could not go on anymore given the number of players, officials being reported positive. Just goes to show you that you can have unlimited finances, you can't fight against fate and nature.

Bottom line BCCI ko sharam se doobh ke mar jana chahiye

I wonder if he'll care to revise this statement from last week ? It's not as if the COVID situation has magically worsened since, they were surging to record highs then.

However, as far as BCCI executives are concerned, they have proved their competence and have showed that they are capable of hosting a tournament smoothly even in the worst of times.

This should give ICC a lot of confidence that India is the right place to host the WT20 in the pandemic because BCCI knows what it is doing.

Do you know what's even more comical ? There are many Indian journalists I'm reading online who have really laid into BCCI for their irresponsibility, greed and inhumanity in staging this tournament amidst the worst humanitarian disaster in decades - in language far stronger than mine.

Well I suppose congratulations are in order for Pakistani supporters. They were praying day & night for IPL to be suspended and their prayers have been finally answered.

I think that we must commend BCCI for taking a swift decision. It was a huge challenge to hold the tournament considering the crisis in India, and they took corrective measures as soon as they realized that the players and the staff were now at risk.

Drawing parallels with PCB is a pointless exercise. PSL was held in February-March when the COVID situation in Pakistan as in reasonable control and the country was not in the type of crisis that India currently finds itself in.

However, PCB were extremely lax and careless and took no precautionary measures. If they were vigilant or if they had any shred of competence, they would have managed to complete the tournament without any fuss.

The situation in India right now is very alarming, and in spite of BCCI’s efforts and hard-work, it was simply impossible to complete the tournament without any hiccups.

You are comparing the situation to Pakistan. Ok let’s compare the covid situation. Basically at least in Pakistan we have enough oxygen for now , and that thousands are not dying daily on streets.

Bro they don’t care about what’s happening in Indian hospitals. Bcci are oblivious to it. Only yesterday bcci were saying the ipl will be completed no matter happens because we are past the half way mark now.

What forced their hand was that many players testing positive. Every team is infected . They are hiding it for now. Watch in next few days , we will get more reports filtering in on players testing positive. That’s why the aussies wanted to chip. Hussey has tested positive too. More positive results will filter in tomorrow no doubt. Bcci can’t be trusted

There is no arrogance, its a fact that IPL is the most important series for BCCI. There is a reason its the only league with a seperate window. The fact that it ran for 3 weeks amidst this raging virus tells you how important IPL is. If this was just another international series, it would have been cancelled long ago and we would not even be discussing about it.

Anyway, its just got suspended. When the situation improves, BCCI will ensure to play out the remaining matches to cut the financial loss. Just like last time, my hunch is IPL would take preecedence over T20 WC.

Exactly. His previous “hunch “ was that the “Ipl would never be cancelled” come what may. Now his next hunch is that word cup will be cancelled.

My hunch is no cricket in india for 7 years until everyone there is vaccinated
