So situation is that Pakistan players cannot practice and it seems that unreasonable demands being put on them.

So what should be done now?

Christchurch: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought feedback from the Pakistan team management whether to continue the tour of New Zealand or not after the squad was denied permission to train in isolation, ARY Sports reported.

According to sources, Captain Babar Azam and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq will take feedback from the players and inform the board.

PCB chairman Ehsan Mani will then consult other board officials and the future of the tour of New Zealand will be decided in the light of feedback and consultation.

PCB’s decision came after the players informed the board about their mental illness and worries as they have under strict quarantine for the last 10 days. Management and players expressed severe mental anguish and anger over not being allowed to train.

As per reports, the players and the team gave positive feedback on the continuation of the tour to the PCB. The players have decided to stay patient till December 8 so that they can focus on cricket again once the isolation period ends.

It must be noted that New Zealand’s Ministry of Health denied the Pakistan squad to train in managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ).

44 members out of 54 have reportedly tested negative for the fourth time and CEO PCB Wasim Khan also conveyed disappointment in this regard to the New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

They should not leave on their own accord

Let the NZCB or NZ government request them to leave. At least the PCB cannot them be blamed of sabotaging New Zealand’s home schedule and also they will not lose points in the Test championships

We should play , we should be thankful if we get to play after how unprofessionaly pcb devised the travel plan of the players
.

Up to the players entirely. If they don't feel comfortable then the PCB should pull out but from the statements it seems like they'll try and push through.

It may not be our choice to play. South Africa may also ask England to leave their current tour

No.

We need to be thrown out of New Zealand and ICC should impose sanctions on PCB.

The way PCB handled the Fakhar Zaman case says everything that needs to be said about their irresponsible behavior and negligence.

We are clearly not ready to tour other countries during this pandemic.

As long as Pakistan follow guidelines and get no more cases, it should continue. What happened was an embarrassment but Pakistan need to learn from this. If it happens on a future tour, there should be repercussions.

They won't leave without majorly burning a hole in NZC's pocket.

I hope it doesn't happen, their shambolic attitude so far notwithstanding.

That isnt the question asked.

You are doing this broken record thing and its becoming cumbersome for all concerned.

ECB spoke very highly of Pakistans behavior and thanked them continuously during the English summer. So we clearly are ready?

“Ek to chori, upar se seenazori”

Do you think Pakistan is in a position to dictate terms after the mess that they have created?

Moreover, if Pakistan were to pull off this stunt return home, costing NZC not only money but also WTC points, PCB can forget about NZ touring Pakistan any time soon.

So the answer is no.

Pakistan is not in a position to act tough here because (a) we are not the victims here because we are the ones to create the mess and (b) we have zero leverage on NZC and cannot upset them because we need them to tour.

Mistakes happen South Africa have now been alleged to have broken protocol, one of their players was tested on Thursday and the positive result was only confirmed this morning one hour before the match started. Potentially similar to the Zaman situation a player could have been left to mix before finding out he is positive.

They say there is always a sliver lining.

The silver lining here is that we now we have an excuse when we get thrashed.

We will say that we didn’t get to practice and were distracted with this COVID stuff.

India got manhandled by them no shame for a lower ranked team to lose.

The team needs to use the episode as inspiration to do well in NZ and surpass expectations

I agree with this. As long as NZ doesn’t have a problem and the players are cleared to play, they must.

Also, if the series takes place all will be forgotten in a few months, but if Pakistan returns back at this point this episode will be remembered for far long.

Was Fakhar positive? No. Furthermore he is playing this round of QeA, that doesn't point to the his result being a false negative. He would have had another test before joining the team.

That is what we have. You can speculate all you want but there isn't a shread of evidence that Fakhar was covid positive and more importantly that the PCB didn't do tests on the rest of the squad after they did one on Fakhar.

It is possible to miss all the cases on one test but it is extremely unlikely. Fakhar would have been interacting with much of the squad before leaving. And they will each other. Even taking a 40% false negative rate and assuming Fakhar to be positive, the chances that all 50 members would test neagtive is pretty damn low.

In other words this theory is hogwash.

To the OP, comply with whatever the NZ government says. There is a reason there are no community transmissions in NZ. They know what they are doing.

Also the players should know and recall that it's their own stupidity that they are in this predicament. Had they not violated the protocols, we might not have been at 6 positive cases and the NZ government would have more trust in their ability to listen and follow the instructions given to them.

I think that complying with the government is the most important part. This tour should have happened as it would help finalize a decent team combination ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup, but I still think that Pakistan should stay. Granted that the tables will be tipped towards New Zealand, I still think that we should work with our bowlers and batsmen as much as we can because a lot of people need experience on this team.

This needs to be a 1 off though. On the next tour , if Pakistan behave in this manner there needs to be serious repercussions.

LOL at mental health issues and anguish after 10 days in quarantine???? Seriously what's up with people these days, so soft.

Hand me a computer and some video games and I'll quarantine for years if I have to! It's not that hard..pull yourselves together and get through the tour, clowns!

Series should happen. Hopefully there are no more positive tests. It'd be great to watch Kane vs Babar.

These players got themselves to blame for this mess. If anything they should they should be greatful enough to stay to continue this tour. Let New Zealand decide on that decision.

Continuing the series depends on factors like are

NZ authority convinced that covid cases are zero and is under their control in the PAK camp and

PAK camp need to know how many days or weeks of practice do they need come DEC 18 the date for 1st T20

If covid cases are out of control and also pak should have date in mind where they think they should be allowed to train if both these things cant happen then the tour need to be called off

Yes it is laughable.

They are confined in 5 star hotels and earning millions and some people think that life is hard.

t20s really dont need much practice for weeks in their conditions and its fun cricket anyway, who cares.

its tests that matter. for tests, as long as they get 10 days before first test during that they could play 1 or 2 practice games (a 2 day , a 3-4 day), it should be okay. if 10 days before first test they are still not all clear then that puts things a major risk.

another option could be to see if the test vs t20 players can be isolated further, test squad / matches are more critical and if they are continually testing negative then letting test players practice is more cruccial. also if some t20 players are not testing negative, just send them home, we have enough players there to make a t20 XI on 18th.

What a naive post. Not everyone is an introvert with no lives like some people here. Although I agree, the players need to conform to the quarantine rules and regulations, in a country which has managed to achieve great success in terms of this pandemic.

However, NZ should be called out for going public for even the tiniest little thing. It's like a bunch of over-excited kids are managing their media and management.

Nah, you don't need to be an introvert. I don't mind socializing but I can easily go without it as well. It's not all black or white. People need to be not less.relisnt on socializing, this is only for 10 days and already mental health? Oh please.

What a life, no wonder you must have zero sporting ability.

Yes, I'm not very good at sports, but that's because I have certain eye issues that make my vision not good enough for sports. Hope you can be more understanding. I do however try to keep fit by lifting weights and running on the treadmill.

This team is going to be rattled.

I can't see them doing well from this position. The COVID-19 results, ridicule, lack of match practice, change in routine, foreign conditions, and NZ coming in fully prepared will hurt Pakistan.

We can hope for the best, but this isn't looking good.

Hope you understand too that not everyone is like you and living in confinement of room can be tough even in a 5 star hotel for some people specially those who have daily routine to practice and workout outdoors

Most probably they will get rattled but running away from tour is not good at all.

They should only return if NZ health ministry asks them to leave

I think a lot of time and energy has already been put into it to call it off now. If players are in good mental state and think that they can compete well under these circumstances then they should carry on however, if their mental health is being impacted than that raises concerns.

These mujahids have to battle it out I’m afraid so cricket can return to Pakistan, and these SENA teams can actually turn up for once.

Just like the doctors who are on the road every other day for pay increase, despite a doctor in Rahim yar Khan draws more than 2,50,000 plus from govt treasury plus definite earning from the sale of vitamins and private clinics. Yet portray themselves as marginalised and long duty hours. In comparison a labour earns just 18000. If different profession(sports and docs especially want competitive salaries to global norm they should also pay same taxes same wages to poor(7$ per hour min USA standard) and buy things at same rate.

Actually they should reschedule by moving the t20i’s after the test they can get a window of about one week free

Another could be playing a test than t20i than test and then t20i and so on if needed to be rescheduled in the same time frame because most of the test would finish inside 4days and most of the test players don’t play t20

43 results are negative on Day 9 for Pak squad - so things looking better - dont think we should come back.

I voted for the tour continuing. It will be a good series.

I hope Pakistani players are chomping at the bits.

Go out and show what you can do.

Whatever you do, please note that you are representing the #AsianBloc and not just Pakistan cricket. Any insult to #AsianBloc will not be tolerated by people of Asia so please deal with this with utmost seriousness and an iron will.

Ideally , the show must go on but not at the expense of our respect. I want Health Minister of NZ to know this.
