Pakistan have deliberately manufactured docile pitches to prevent a fair match and have made the series a complete farce. The ICC should penalize them so other teams dont do the same thing.

Top teams should not have to play teams that are going to make pitches that not fit for cricket and make a mockery of the game. Pakistan should be ashamed of this series.

don't think ICC is in a position to antagonize PCB and Pakistan. All ICC can do is rate pitches based on match referee report.

Never expected this type of pitches for this series. Isuch an iconic series and we got pitches like this...Pakistan already got the easiest of WTC schedule and I think they just want 0-0 for this series.

Having a series ravaged by rain in England is one thing, but if this ends up being 0-0 the PCB have to take a long hard look at themselves.

On the question posed, I don't think the ICC has any leverage over Pakistan in terms of test championship points just on the basis of the pitch. After all, Pakistan too is a victim of the same conditions.

I think so.

Really feeling sorry to see that Pakistan has been producing these types of dead no result pitches again and again in this series . In this T20 dominating era of cricket when test cricket is under threat ,each and every country should try to get out of the negative thinking of trying to make a draw by producing lifeless high scoring pitches which makes test matches really boring. It is logical , when 35 long hours of cricket fails to produce a result that is a rubbish format indeed.

Let's not go overboard....it's not the first time we have seen flat pitches in cricket

Criticism is welcome but punishment is out of question

And other thing is crowds should punish PCB if they pick up boring batsman like Azhar Ali . I am serious. I have stopped seeing Pakistan bat
in test cricket ever since Azhar Misbah or Shafique is on the crease .

ICC should take action against every board if 5 days of cricket fail to produce results if they want to keep test cricket alive.

This thread has been posted out of frustration. I am also seriously frustrated. This has been a long awaited series for every cricket fan. Doesn't PCB possess the responsibility to produce a sporting wicket which can produce an exciting series?

I don't think ICC has the powers to deduct Test championship points based on pitches. The best they can do is dock and penalize the venue like they did in Pindi. However that said, if there is a clear precedence that this is a ploy to manipulate points then maybe for the next cycle, they could enforce a law wherein points can be deducted if the match referee thinks pitches are below par.

Well typically pakistan have produced docile pitches which needs to be looker at. IcC cant do anything its like indian pitches the match is over in 2 to 3 days yet tests are suppose to be 5 days
