Hindsight is 20/20 but has the PCB's decision come too late? Did they have enough grounds to make the same decision to call off PSL earlier?

I think PCB and Govt had to react as per the situation in this case as nothing can be predicted. Cases in Pakistan werent too many initially and matches started to happen without crowds as precautionary measure however, in last couple of days the number has gone up considerably

Definitely yes.

Even the AUS-NZ series that was being played behind closed doors got canceled/postponed.

But PCB thought it is immune to all of it. Playing the final was very important for them.

Incompetency.

What shambles! When more popular leagues like NBA, IPL are getting canceled, it's unfortunate that PSL was still conducted with such huge crowd turnout. I just hope the situation is brought to control. The league should have stopped at least 2 weeks ago.

So they were reactive and not proactive?

Exactly. Well probably 2 weeks was too early.

But 1 week ago was a definite yes -- that is when it should have been postponed/canceled, everyone asked to go to their homes.

PCB was hell bent on having the final!

It's just insane man. Life is way more important than stupid cricket. Ányway, what is done is done. We need to get act together and prevent this pandemic.

Of course.

They were waiting for the 1st corona case to "react" to it.

World over there are countries making this mistake. Nobody should sugar coat this..it was stupid to go ahead with the games.

Every country is reactive in this regard as policies are being changed daily. To be honest its an unforeseen scenario and it was difficult to predict how things will develop. All the countries are changing their policies on day to day basis as the things are developing. You cant go straight towards lockdowns and canceling every thing without actually assessing the situation and how it folds. Pak had handful of cases so holding matches without crowd looked to be a decent less risky option, things have changed a lot in last two days so they have acted accordingly.

Titan brother looks like you haven't followed the news at all.

ALL sporting competitions WORLDWIDE canceled. That is proactive, not reactive.

They even canceled the AusvNZ series in the MIDDLE of the series.

Why not just accept it that PCB and PSL got it terribly wrong and are now stuck in an embarrassing situation? Now they have to test everyone on their own and isolate them if neeed.

Their main goal was achieved, hosting in PAK without any hiccups, and the virus was a legitimate reason to end it and gloat/be happy about having hosted it.

Now they just came across as stupid after continuing and one of the players (even though he had departed earlier) is saying he has symptoms of virus.

Yep. Was stupid to continue. Got exceptions from government too re. sec 144, so govt is at fault too.

Valid point; Guess PSL was intoxicating for us - difficult to let it go so early :)

Seems that it was called-off only due to the Alex Hales news.

That's worrying.

PSL being called off is disaster for the Pakistani public who are facing impact of measures taken by govt. and have to stay at home.

They called off the whole tournament on the news of a player who had left PSL 4 days ago and is yet to be tested.
The other players and staff were tested nothing is known about them as well.

This is beyond terrible.

For some reason I wasn't that over excited about the semi finals although I had time off coincidentally to watch the first semi
The Re scheduling was also done out of haste and the semis and finals should always be on weekend
It was just sad enough to see gladiatorsand sarfraz ahmed exit the tournament due to net run rate
