Should the T20 World Cup be played using the round robin league format like the 2019 ODI World Cup?

Wont a round robin league make the chances for teams more even? For teams who usually have slow starts, this would help even things out at end.

If ODI WC can go through round robin format why cant the T20 WC have the same?

Every kind of system will seem "unfair" to someone. You have to be switched on from first match. Slow starters should really get no advantage.

I like the format alot but it wont work in every icc tournament. I think it is fine for an odi wc but for these short 2.5 week tourneys not needed unless they reduce total teams.

After India failed to make the finals I have a feeling ICC will introduce a round robin stage in every WC tournament, with play offs and eliminators. If India finish top 2 they’ll have 2 chances of then reaching the final.

What next if India loses the final…..

Nope.

T20 format isn't serious enough to have a round robin league. Also, they have more teams in a T20 World Cup.

from Next T20 WC onwards, that is from 2024 T20 WC, there will be 20 teams in the tournament with 4 Groups of 5 teams each. From there onwards 2 sides from each group will qualify for the Super 8 Stage where all teams will play each other once and Top four sides will qualify for Semis . So we will have it already from 2024 WT20.
