Only in Pakistan would a one dimensional and a one tricky pony like Fawad be considered the best batsman.

The match winner the legend the never aging the beautiful afridi at the crease

I thought Fawad was great at strike rotation.:13:

When pushed he is, it what's happens before that's the issue

To me he is a better version of Mishbah, but I see the merits if the argument that you can only have one of them in the team

Personally I'd like to see fawad at 3 followed by akmal

If that doesn't work the fawad will have to wait for a misbah retirement and haris sohail should come in at 3

Unfortunately the Team Player return puts all this to jeopardy

Hopefully Afridi does something otherwise he shouldn't play but no way they rest him.

Hafeez/Younis/Misbah/Afridi could go for ducks and they would all still play

Come on Maqsood.

Afridi needs to aim for a 50 off 25.

Maqsood another 50 off 25 from here.

Maqsood needs to keep YK out the team.

Fawad is not a no.3 . Period.

Someone like Maqsood or Harris should be batting there.

Fawad Alam is better against spin. I think number 4 is perfect for him as long as Misbah is not in the team.

Number 3 needs to me more dynamic and the likes of Haris Sohail (can get bogged down but has greater range of shots than Fawad) and Maqsood seem ideal for that position.

Umar Akmal again showed today why he is not yet mature and ready for the number 3/4 positions. When he gets to bat in the first 20 odd overs, he has no purpose and planning to his batting. He simply cannot construct a proper innings.

That's why I want him to open so that he can attack from the word go, pretty much like T20s or continue to bat at number 6. At the moment, 3/4/5 is beyond his comfort zone.

UPDATE:

Game called off. Chammera bowled a full toss at Afridi and he ate the ball.

No replacements available.

Game over.

the same team will play except maybe Anwar will be replaced by Babar and Junaid will replace either Talha or Wahab.

Harris at three, Maqsood at four, Fawad at five and Umar at six. That is how I think it should be.

Maqsood and Harris are too good to be wasted down the order.

Umar, I don't think has the brains to play at 3 or 4.

Continue your old style of posting, it was a lot better. Now you trying to be funny.. doesn't look good.

I'd be livid if Maqsood continues to rot on the bench for Younis and Fawad. Comfortably a superior ODI batsman.

give akmal a series at 4 and then let's see

Afridi is easily the best rotator of strike and player of spin in our ODI side. :inzi

Well I think he'd be at his best if he opens for us in ODIs, but I doubt if that will ever happen. Yes he will move into the top 4 once he becomes a senior and the current seniors expire. :misbah

64 from 44.....

WHY?

Dynamic batsman are in.

Dynamic batsman win you games.

Not Misbah.

One more dynamic batsman like Maqsood and Umar (Haris, Amin, Babar etc) and Fawad will be surplus to requirements. You don't need batsmen like Misbah and Fawad in a quality batting unit in ODIs.

Akmal is woeful against spin early on in his innings, he should definitely not be batting at 4 or 5.

Either have him open or play at 6.

61 from 42.

Have to win this now.

Hope Maqsood gets a game. If he does YK won't play.

Hafeez, Shehzad, Maqsood, Fawad, Misbah, U.Akmal, Afridi.

This is the team we should go with

The thing is the senior players hold all the influence. If :yk can get himself a better contract then I'm sure he's able to work his way into the line up somehow, at the expense of a younger player.

Since Misbah is captain and nearly retired, it looks like Fawad will have to wait till after the WC to get a spot in the team. You cant have both players, as they will completely kill the innings together. So Misbah is playing, you have the bat him as an opener or number 3. Force him if need be. If he opens and tuk tukks, no problem as you have loads of time to recover and if no wickets fall it gives others the freedom to play aggressively. If he bats 3, he can prevent a collapse. If he geyts out early, still no issue as you have loads of players yet to bat e.g. Umar,Younus etc.

In his current spot he kills off a potentially good innings or he puts alot of pressure on his partner, who more often than not is a tail ender. Said tail ender then has to hit boundaries and is inevitably dismissed which means that the regular fall of wickets continues...

If this line up is picked in future Pakistan will fail with the bat 9 times out of 10.

Shehzad
Misbah
Hafeez
Sharjeel
Akmal
Maqsood
Afridi

would be the batting line up I'd pick, although I know little about Maqsood or Sharjeel tbh

Partnership almost equal to the Lords of Tuk Tuk, but has taken around 50 balls less. :)))
