From cricinfo: "If AB gets 101 today, he'll be the fastest to 9000 runs in 202 innings with Ganguly a distant second at 228 innings! "

QdK is a joy to watch, best ODI bat along with AB.
Won his country a series in India as well. I rate players who win away very highly. There's no such thing as conditions being the same all over the world, even in this era of flat decks. Amla needs to get his act together though

I'm not an ABentina, but AB the ODI bat is a sight to be hold. His not my cup of tea, he's a weak character. I prefer players with a fighting spirit and never say die attitude than to simply rely on talent.

This game is nicely set up for the platform bully. 101 is it? ;-)

Anyway well played to de Kock, great ton. Now kick on..... make a double ton.

If both are in form, this is one of the greatest opening partnership of all time. Complimenting styles and mindsets and both are superb ODI players.

Winning this game takes South Africa to #1 so it's an important game to rack up this partnership too. De Kock gone finally!

I'd have sent in a pinch hitter like Morris or AB. Faf and Amla are too similar Amla looks for singles and strike rotation outside of powerplays. Faf is similar, knocks the ball about before launching.
The problem here is that we'll only give AB 10 or less overs to bat.
They're sucking all the momentum, against sides with fire power like England and Australia we'll pay the price. SA need to be tactically flexible.

CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) has congratulated the Standard Bank Proteas on completing back-to-back five-match series clean sweeps and in the process gaining the No. 1 position on the ICC ODI rankings table.

“This has been a year without parallel in the history of our ODI cricket,” commented CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat. “It is almost exactly a year to the day (February 9, 2016) when the team started their current run of success that has seen them win a record 14 ODIs in a row on home soil. This impressive run shows the sustained excellence they have brought to their game with many individual and team highlights.

“Winning clean sweep series is a relatively rare occurrence and to do it twice in a row against the likes of Australia and Sri Lanka, both former World Cup champions, is a fantastic achievement.

“It augurs well for our forthcoming tours to New Zealand and England, and of course the ICC Champions Trophy.

“Many congratulations are due to captain AB de Villiers, stand-in captain Faf du Plessis, head coach Russell Domingo and all the players and management. Du Plessis achieved the outstanding feat of becoming the second Protea after Hashim Amla to score 400 runs in a five-match ODI Series and he deserves congratulations for that too.

“We wish the Proteas bon voyage as they leave for New Zealand tomorrow,” concluded Mr. Lorgat.

Suranga Lakmal batted better than most of the SL batsmen today LOL, almost a 100 partnership with Asela.
