Don't suppose any of the South Africans here know what the weathers like at the moment? Apparently it could be a bit dodgy?

I hope they don't play Steyn. Just play him in the WT20 and then preserve him for a few more tests if possible . His career is almost over.

Also not a fan of a young 20 year old fast bowler playing sonmany matches in all formats. What the hell CSA? Are you determined to lose your one quality player and turn into a minnow?

I'm up in Joburg. Cape Town weather is unpredictable. Could clear up or you could get rain all night.

De Kock rested for KFC T20I series against England; Proteas bowl first

Friday, 19 February 2016

Oxigen Proteas wicket-keeper batsman, Quinton de Kock, has been rested as a precaution for the two-match KFC T20 International series against England. De Kock sustained an injury to his right knee before the third Sunfoil Test match against England at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium and has been granted a period of rest given the busy playing schedule ahead.

Proteas team manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee explained: “Quinton has been playing a lot of cricket since the injury to his knee before the third Test match against England. Even though he was given the all clear by the medical team at the time, we feel it is best to give the knee some rest as he is still slightly symptomatic. We need to keep in mind the upcoming ICC World T20 as well as the short turnaround of matches leading up to the tournament. He will be available for selection for the series against Australia starting in Durban on March 4.”

Faf du Plessis has won the toss and elected to bowl in the first KFC T20 International against England at PPC Newlands on Friday. AB de Villiers retains the gloves in De Kock’s absence and Rilee Rossouw makes a return to the line-up after missing the series against India due to injury.

South Africa XI: Faf du Plessis (captain), AB de Villiers (wk), Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Rilee Rossouw, David Miller, David Wiese, Chris Morris, Kyle Abbott, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir.

Tahir is very underrated. Poor guy gets to play in SA which offers no help for spinners.

If Tahir plays regularly in India or Dubai or Lanka, he will look like a million dollars.

Dire from England. Was tipping them to be one of the favourites for the T20WC but they've collapsed on this tour since going 2-0 up in the ODIs.

Will get murdered by spinners in India if this is the best England can come up with. So much for England being a top LOI side. :)))

Devilliers is really a mediocre international t20 player, he has no excuse now, he is opening and still fails

No one seems to have really got in and middled it today, even Hales mistimed a fair few in his innings.

Rashid still doesn't know where to pitch the balls, he is talented but doesn't know where to pitch the balls, he would have been world class by now.

Butler is a top batsman no doubt, but his keeping is quite poor. Drops catches almost every matches.

If Alec Stewart is available maybe try and get him to work with him a bit after this tour. Prior didn't really start out as that good a keeper but was one of the best around by the end of his career and I'm fairly sure he worked with him extensively.

Butler needs lessons from mark boucher, he was an exceptional keeper. England knows who to attract the proteas :butt

Topley didn't pick that up until it was too late it seems. Jordan bowling pretty well to justify his selection.

Topley and Wiley looks more manly with their facial hair :akhtar, without facial hair they look like :shehzad

Fittingly, England lose the match with a fielding fumble. Topley couldn't gather cleanly, nerves getting the better of him.

Damn looks like I missed out on a thriller because of PSL which also had a thriller.

Morris :14:

Morris can be a true superstar. Charismatic, eloquent man and handles pressure very well. Needs to work on his L&L a little more though.
