Good to see the posters who were signing off yesterday saying this was a done deal, coming out today and acknowledging the situation as it is.

A rarity in itself.

Curious to see how the ‘captain’ Babar Azam takes this. Not to mention he’ll need to actually bat well against spin, if PAK are to make a game of this Test.
 
We should not be disappointed if we lose this match , pakistan team at the moment is probably at par with west indies in test cricket.

Playing nauman ali is something i dont understand , he is a good bowler and can bat a bit too but for how long? another 6 months?

There are three middle aged guys in our top 5 , i have nothing against fawad alam and i am so happy for his success but seriously how long can abid ali and fawad go on? Instead of giving younger players a long run we are still trying stop gap selections.

Play a team and dont expect them to win too many in the next couple of years. We have tried everything else already.

Currently results dont matter.

It was an average knock. He should have converted it into a big score and batted South Africa out of the game. Instead, he lost focus after getting his milestone and it was obvious with the stupid Ertugrul dance that he did.

He is not playing for the team. He is only interested in personal glory.

How do you know that they are batting? So you are following the match then? Why not just spare yourself from this so called embarrassment? You are so unreasonable mate. We are playing at home after decades. Do you not get it that the talent pool, grounds, retrospecting the infrastructure, required funding and for that you need to play at home and rely heavily on local interest, following and sponsorship? Are you that naive?

The return of powerhouses back to Pakistan and the money coming in from media giants like Sky, Sony, Superstore, etc will help immensely and so will the PSL income for PCB. Stop your whinging now mate, its just toxic.

People need to stop with this. The pitch is/was uneven but not even remotely in a life threatening fashion. Even with the push from our tail we’re c. 30-50 runs short.

This track won’t give you a highlight reel of dismissals for a YouTube montage barring the last few days - and that is nothing unique to this strip as most tracks start misbehaving.

He made a good 100. The clinical players would have carried on. Still, it wasn’t so much that he he got out but the fact that he got out in the fashion SAF had been trying to get him out. The actual dismissals and set ups matter more than the scorecard, just as wickets taken by bowlers are only good if there is repeatability to them.

Someone asked before this SAF series if SAF were going to roll over to spin. Cannot remember which thread it was, but I said then and will repeat now that they were more likely to be susceptible to the idea/anxiety of playing spin rather than actually playing spin.

They are now playing the ball rather than the perceived reputations and the results are in front of us.
 
Very close to the umpires call, saved by a whisker maybe.

More than half the ball pitched outside leg. It was not umpire’s call situation.
 
The appeal against RVd Dussen when Faheem was bowling had not even been completed when Aleem bhai’s jazba e hubbul watan came to the fore.

Looking at the comments seems like he’s pitying PAK’s status and keen to get things rolling.

Maybe I was imagining things but he had a bemused smile when he gave Babar LBW to Maharaj.

Not these lame excuses and coping mechanisms again. Pakistan is a talentless and intellectually bankrupt cricket nation. It has nothing to do with not playing at home, which has actually benefited us because we wouldn’t have become number 1 in 2016 by playing in Pakistan.

Pakistan will always be a mediocre team. Don’t get your hopes up. These broadcast deals drama or whatever will also end in tears.
 
Nuaman has been accurate, maybe needs to vary it a bit more as batsmen have been comfortable defending.

Dar should not be allowed to officiate in Pakistan’s Tests.
 
Hasan can be brought against Faf for couple of overs at the end. He was getting some reverse and can be difficult for a new batsman to negotiate.
 
Need another wicket here to turn momentum back to us. I’ve not seen South Africa play for a while, how is Faf’s spin play?
 
It's just the Wickets of faf and bavuma. Rest of the players are nobodies. Markram will lose his wicket soon

For starters he is notoriously known for blockathons stretching 130-150 overs in the last innings... but each innings is different though and he became old
