What's new

South Africa v Australia | 1st Test | Brisbane | Nov 9-13, 2012 |

So SA are the number 1 team and can do nothing to stop Australia with its weak batting and ordinary bowlers kick their ass all over the place, some number 1 they turned out to be.

"Here's Hashim Amla to throw a few more"

"Pies are pies, whether they're bowled or thrown"

It's not cricket without the ABC.

Morkel has been a bit unlucky. Has been bowling really well.

To be fair, they did get rid of all of the "weak" batters, barring Cowan if you want to slot him into that bracket. It's Clarke that's been the problem, and now Hussey.

And they scored 450 batting first.

No point declaring, if I were Clarke I'll just tire the Saffer bowlers out for the entirety of tomorrow if it has to come to that. It's not like there's going to be a result in any case.

We are now in front with six wickets in hand.

Morne Morkel being trolled by the cricket gods here.

They scored 450 batting first at a snails pace of less than 3 runs an over whereas Australia have scored 450 at nearly 4 runs an over and the SA bowlers have only taken 3 wickets. SA have been demoralised here.

Pup's family must be pretty proud of him eh. To end up where he is after just a few years ago the whole country was laughing at him because of Brainless Bingle's antics.

That incident which led him to fly back home from the NZ tour must have been the lowest ebb.

The sledges were real classy though. I recall one: "The way he exposed the naked face of the bat to snuggle that ball through the covers reminds me of the great Lara!!". Hilarious stuff right there.

Clarke becomes 2nd batsman in history of Test Cricket to score 1 Triple Hundred and 2 Double Hundreds in a Calender Year. Donald Bradman was other one (1930)

Or the classic Kiwi chant:

Bloody sheepshaggers :D

Pretty much all decent bowling attacks around the world will get rid of them early anyway.

They will be flogging it around tomorrow morning I reckon. Post up a lead of 150 and try and bat only once.

South Africa losing the plot here.

But with only a few overs left, the Aussie slow-down is well and truly on.

:four for Huss, bit dodgy but right through the slips

3 double hundreds (including a triple vs us) for Pup in a calendar year..Other than the Don, has anyone else done the same?

4/487 at stumps, lead of 37. If they can put on another 150 in 2 sessions then we have 4 sessions to get the Saffers out. Hopefully this pitch disintegrates and ends up looking like the Mumbai Dark Side of the Moon pitch tomorrow night :D

Tomorrow's the last day

Perhaps you mean 2 and 4 hours? cos we are on day 4 today

Wow, Cowan and Clarke! Nobody expected that. Terrific cricket chaps.

Aussies should declare after 90 minutes tomorrow and see what happens next...

Clarke says he wants to add 70 odd runs tomorrow. So I guess that means a 100+ lead.

Oh wait a minute it's day 4 already lol. They will have to bat above current RR of 6rpo and maybe put 100 on before lunch and then put the Saffers in and see what happens.

If Clarke scores triple hundred then he will be first player in history of Test cricket to score 2 Triple Hundreds in Calender Year.

Sounds like he's backing out of the quest to notch up another triple. Pity, for accomplishing one against this Saffa attack is no joke.

Come on Aussies.

...

........

............God I feel dirty.

What's Clarke's average as captain? Was it 98 before this Test?

Morkel is overrated, Philander is a seaming track bully, no genuine spinner.

Anyhow, cricket is a team sport - it would be ridiculous if Clarke goes for his triple ton and I'm dead certain he won't.

They should bat for around 15 overs tomorrow at 5 rpo and above, hoping that the brand ambassadors of choking will choke once again.

There's no way in hell Clarke will go for the triple.

Pup won't go for the triple. He's have a bit of a lash in the morning and try to get the OZ to a 120 run lead. Then we'll see what happens. It's going to be a draw but we must look willing.

.....no, I cannot concur. They've caused me too much hurt for too long. Come on Yarpies!

Most impressive by Clarke and it's good to see that the old man Mr Cricket still has some runs in him. Ponting is over so I hope they bring him to England.

by the next cricket world cup Clarke will be hailed as a legend. Avgs 49 in test and 45 in ODIs, a superb cricketer!

19 centuries already!

What's happening to numero uno teams when they tour? The only number 1 team after the great Oz which didn't disgrace itself on a tour was ironically India in south africa. Though they more than made up for it with unbelievable incompetence later.

Its cursed the chalice #voldemort #dada

Australia shouls slog for 25 overs then take 75 or so to rty and bowl SA out.
