Hughes, Hilfenhaus and North to debut for Australia, Bollinger is 12th man so McDonald is playing.

South Africa unchanged.

Number 1 Test ranking for the winner of this series.

Match starts in about 45 minutes.

Whats your first innings prediction
I think 250-270 is the most Australia will score batting first after hearing about the pitch and swinging conditions etc

South Africa team

GC Smith, ND McKenzie, HM Amla, JH Kallis, JP Duminy, AB de Villiers, MV Boucher, PL Harris, M Morkel, DW Steyn, M Ntini

Australia team

SM Katich, PJ Hughes, RT Ponting, MEK Hussey, MJ Clarke, MJ North, BJ Haddin, AB McDonald, MG Johnson, PM Siddle, BW Hilfenhaus

Intresting Line up for Australia with 4 seamers. I guess North and Clarke will be spin options.

Conditions should favour bowlers early on and then get better for batting!

Hope Hughes gets some runs for Aussies.

No idea at all. Depends how they bowl and how we bat.

Scattered crowds. Barely a few thousand in. And this for a clash of the titans.

Australiia win the 4th toss in a row.....making it hard work agai for the saffers.

Steyn strikes first over.....poor hughes...what a bad start to his career.

Working day. 60 000 tickets pre sold for this game.

Steyn on fire here at moment Hughes gone and Punter should have joined him as well.

0/1 after 1 over.

Ntini getting some nice seam....austalia are about to be schooled on south african pitches .........just got a feeling. But then again...pitch looks flat after the new ball goes normally at wanderers.

Actually thought the bat hit the ball before the thigh pad...would lik to see that again.

Australia will need to weather early storm here!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

WHAT IS MARK NICHOLAS DOING ON THIS TELECAST? :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Please have mercy on us

I remember the last test clash between the two side here when Martyn scored a classy ton to take Aussies home.

Australia haven't lost a Test at the Wanderers in 15 years, by the way.

Yes mcdonald and crew will tear us apart....

bwahahahahahaha...

amateurs.

18 for 2 .....this australian side is almost so bad it's almost boring. Not that they're a terrible side....but I don't feel for a moment like beating them is a great achievement now.....little the same as england or there abouts.

Genius catch.

Saffas full of confidence, and everything seems to be going for them.

Reminds me of any Australian team from the last 20 years.

And South Africa think we should let them have Boxing Day test?

This is a sell out crowd? :))) Get some numbers then talk about it.

Yes I am reduced to laughing at their crowd :(

It's a working day !! Give us a boxing day test and we'll sell it out 10 times over. Anyway..who the heck says it's up to you to give us anything ? Fair is fair..we aren't asking , we're telling you that you WILL give us the season tests...(december is out holiday season).

No, we won't. If you could get a crowd you might have some standing to ask nicely if we would consider it.

First Test of the series at JBurg, apparent sell out, team on a high, 6000 people.

We get ten times that crowd at the MCG, it is not even worth consideration.

These days it is really clear how far above the rest of the Aussie batsmen Ponting is.

Don't know. Nobody I suppose. Maybe Sri Lanka will be tough on their home turf. S.A will still lose the odd game...we're not that good and cricket is a funny game. Was just pointing out that all the special hype of beating australia has gone (for me). This is not a "great" australian team by a long way.

I think beating India in India now will be a good game. I know you all did it last year, but I think their team has matured more now...

Then we don't tour. Simple as that. There's quite a strong anti aussie feeling in this country my friend , in case you didn't notice. Not an angry mallcious feeling...just a "look at those funny idiots acting tough" kind of feeling. We live in Africa...your machismo amuses us in the same way a dancing monkey might.

If this was in "season" then we'd sell the stadium out 10 times....that's the whole point. In the week days out of holidays 97% of white south africans work or study (that's the employment rate). We don't get off work easily either...like I said....we're tough people. Real tough...not Australian "pretend" tough.

Fine we would just schedule you for the early Tests and have someone else play the Boxing Day Test in front of 80K people.

You can have your Boxing Day test at the same time in front of 10K and some dancing monkeys.....

:)

P.S. Can you take back all the Saffers who have moved out here then?

There must be something you lot like about Australia, because half of your population seem to live here now!

No thanks...keep them. We have a saying we save for those who leave "Go and don't come back ...africa isn't for p#$$!#$. "

No need to break your back on this wicket, nice to bowl on.

Your score on this inning will depend a lot on how Ponting plays...right now, even with 32 runs, Ponting has score 25 runs, and 4 have been extras...

Around 110 000....no a lot considering 300 000 brits live here. And they(the turn coat saffers) all hate it there and stick together rarely mixing with the aussie riff raff. Horrible souless place australia, lacking class and education.

That's fine we hate them being here. Nice and reciprocal.

Good first hour for South Africa, it is Ponting vs the South Africa team at the moment.

Because they're all highly educated, hard working and take all your good jobs ?

Yes that must be it. Might be something to do with the racism to be honest, but honesty gets me nowhere with you does it?

Because they are stupid and selfish and think they deserve servants and you can't have a conversation with them for 5 minutes without them bitching about how the "blacks" took over South Africa.

Nice shot by Hussey there.

Anyway...back to the cricket. Crucial wickets these two. Need one before the ball goes "dead".

Racism....did an Australian just lecture me on racism ? Surely the fact you killed almost an entire indigenous population might stem such a remark....but from an australian I'd expect a lack of class or manners required to refrain from such an ironica statment of stupidity.

Given though that the south africans that leave tend to leave because they are racist. Funny that they chose to move to australia.....one might say it's to be with their "kind". The ones that stay behind are probably the least racist of white populations world wide because we're so entigrated.

I will agree that they like to stick together, that's for sure.

It never ceases to amaze me that Australia as a nation seem to be so hated by the inhabitants of several countries - India being right up there - however we seem to be first choice of many when it comes to emigration.

We are a little too accommodating to people over here to the extent that we are taken advantage of big time.

Dude you need comprehension skills stat.

Ponting hurt by Morkel, mean ball.

----------------------

My family has 4 servants. Because of us and our help they have fed and educated their children so that they now all hold decent jobs and have pulled their entire families out of poverty. Context my friend...I don't know a single white south african that doesn't have a good relationship with their "servants". If you want to put all sorts of negative connotations into it then it's your mind projecting your own negative views and ill feelings to "servants".

Hussey goes ...yaaaawwwwnnn....

Bring back the old Australia...this is boring.

Ah Hussey

Deserved wicket by Morkel he has bowled very well this morning

A bit rich coming from an Aussie.

What about the Aussies always complaining about Britain's colonial attitude, and then seemingly half the under-25's from that country moving to London?
