Cricinfo says its a green top, and Bangladesh win the toss and choose to bat. With a combined team batting average of 182, my hopes aren't high for anything but another innings thumping.
Zondeki comes in for Paul Harris, boosting South Africa's supreme pace bowling line-up.
Can the Banga's salvage some respect?
6 - 0 after 4.2 overs so far:)

This is going to be a killing

Edit - killing delayed by some application from Bangladesh

55-2 in the 24th, both openers gone, even if bangladesh batsmen apply themselves and try to hang around rather than thowing the wkts away, then it will be a good experience for them in the road to improvement.

Mohammad Ashraful the Great Captain of Bangladesh departs for another single. Baffling how long this guy has been captain for, even though he's experienced, a more consistent player like Abdur Razzak or Mashrafe Mortaza should definitely be picked. I dont see Ashraful inspiring confidence in anybody within the side.

That's 21 runs in his last 8 test innings for the chosen one.

He certainly leads this team by example, as they all willingly follow.

:))) :))) We need a leader of this sort.

:afridi

64 for 3 (27.0 overs)

Ashraful should do bangla a favour and join ICL!

Bangladesh have just passed 200, last pair still fighting for survival.

This performance is going to hit the Bangladeshi economy hard as their Prime Minister will be forced to announce another public holiday to allow the nation to celebrate this significant achievement by their heroes.

Infact news is filtering through as I type that there's widespread dancing and joy breaking out on the streets of Dhaka and Chittagong already.

Poor stuff from South Africa. The Tigers should have been bundled out for 70-75. I guess they want to be a little more challenged :)

Little Mushfiqur playing a blinder here, Banglas close to 250!!!

Getting out below 100 in SA is a Pakistani speciallity AFAIK. Hey they even bundled out below 50 in SA. Bangla may be poor but yet to hit double digit score in SA.
While I am writing this the WK is killing Styn like :afridi

Mortaza to McKenzie, out Caught by Raqibul Hasan!! Gone !! good length delivery outside off stump, McKenzie slashes at it and the ball takes the edge straight to Raqibul at back ward point.McKenzie c Raqibul Hasan b Mortaza 0(7)

This match reminds me of Indias tour of SAF and that famous JOburg test where SAF were bowled out for 84. India we all set to be all out for less than 200 runs when the tail put up a 50 run partnership and something like that.

Was it this match where Sreesanth smashed Nel for a straight six and then waved his bat at him to rub it in?

Unforgettable stuff :)))

When it flat batting track we win the toss and let SA bat. When it is green top, we win the toss and choose to bat. Then Ash scoring in binary. What a captain we have. More over, what captains we had. Our sheer luck I must say. Looking back, I realise Ash is following his predecesor's footstep perfectly. Filling the shoes just right. Even down to the defensive field settings and negative approach.

By the way, no "game on" PP. Smith is there to destory everybody and the fielders are there to drop catches.

Lulz good comeback to another hilarious Muhammad quote.
:)))

Kallis currently playing like a man who's scored 136 in his last 10 test innings.

SA are 54 for 2 and at the moment there's a real contest going on.

Bangladesh dont know how to finish a game. Kudos for getting Smithy out, but S.A.'s lineup is still too strong to fail IMO

Kallis is looking awful at the moment, they gotta strike while the iron's hot

Muhammad you have 1, 234 posts. Do not post ever again ^^ Unless you can magic yourself to 12345 posts :batman:

I tried to resist but unfortunately my defence proved to be about as strong as Kallis's these days, he's been clean bowled by Shakib for 24.

40.2 Shakib Al Hasan to Kallis, OUT, straight through the gate and uproots off-stump. A struggling Kallis goes back to the cloaks.

JH Kallis b Shakib Al Hasan 24 (108m 72b 2x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

44.4 Shakib Al Hasan to Amla, OUT, Amla goes for the forward defence, ball hits the pads and goes on to flick the bat and the ball goes to short cover. Easy catch taken. Huge appeals from the Bangladeshi's, for LBW and the catch, but Amla takes a walk before the umpire even lifts a finger, so that must've been bat.
HM Amla c & b Shakib Al Hasan 71 (185m 140b 10x4 0x6) SR: 50.71

44.6 Shakib Al Hasan to de Villiers, OUT
AB de Villiers st wicketkeeperMushfiqur Rahim b Shakib Al Hasan 0 (2m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Shakib Al Hasan to de Villiers, OUT

SA now 134/5
de villiers stumped on his second ball

Now we have a match on our hands!!!

De Villiers arrogance deservedly rewarded!

Muhammed,

Weve seen Bangladesh do this before. They will either struggle to knock over tail cheaply or be bowled out for less than 100 in 2nd inns. They seem to not be able to handle pressure when on top interms of forcing a postive result!

Kallis, dravid and a few other top players seems to be passed their best and should gracefully retire!

I know what you mean, but at least they are making SA think a bit, I don't think SA would be taking this test lightly with it being their last one before the OZ tour.

Prince playing positively at almost a run a ball which isn't usual.

SA 170 for 5. 2 more wickets then the tail

S.A despite there good form have been prone to be beaten in Odd test. India, Pakistan and W.I all won a test in S.A before S.A came back to win all 3 series 2-1.

They are a decent outfit but there is a vunerability about them as well!

:D

We are a pretty rubbish team at present but as they always do, the South Africans seem to be having some hiccups just when they are supposed to be coming to beat us...

redit to bangladesh for getting us 5 down before we went passed their score though. We have a long tail this game and 1 wicket will see the tail. the pitch is spinning and with some effort they could have us out with only 30-50 ahead.

prince going mad ..sixes, reverse sweeps....breaking the prince mould for sure. Nice bit of arrogance here by the saffers. No signs of lack of self belief that plague them in the past.

They are playing Bangladesh.

Kallis now averages 55.06 with the bat in Test cricket, despite having 33 'NOT OUTS'. Never belonged to the 'great' category, a good batsman though.

No, I think it's more a case of you guys are getting worse!

er...have you seen tghe scoreboard ?

We'll win by an innings.

Fail.

Nonsense. He's played back for 6 games. He'll be back close to 60 soon enough. Def a great of the game. Look at his hundreds...third of all time. Oh and the same bowling average as bret lee.

Will there be dancing in the streets of Joburg and Cape Town to celebrate this monumental victory?

I guess the Aussies will be concerned about Morne Morkel and how they are going to combat him when he bowls so wide of the wicket on both sides.

They'll be watching out for that straight one every 4-5 overs I guess

Symonds fishing rod could be put to good use to help the Aussie batsmen reach those loose deliveries with the bat.

Let him take that average close to 60, then speak. A very good batsman and a brilliant all rounder he is.

Not a 'great' batsman though. By 'great' I mean players like Sobers, Richards, Tendulkar, Lara, Graeme Pollock, etc.

Boucher's 32nd birthday is a few days away. He's going to set wicketkeeping records that may never be beaten.

I don't think South Africa have much to prove really. Australia need to defend their so called status as number 1. It's their problem. Our boys will go and give it their best with no pressure. Everyone is writing us off. So if we lose it's no big deal. Aussie on the other hand......

Actually morkel has been bowling rubbish...but it's only since the eng;land series and i'm sure he'll sort it out soon enough. His height and pace will cause many problems for the aussies in combo with steyn's skiddy swinging stuff and macka's seaming poisen.

*shudder

I'm glad i don't have to face that barrage of awesomeness

Jamal, is Shakib good enough for you now? Come on Shakib get your third 5-fer in 3 Tests and let Afridi play for another 10 years to earn his 2nd 5-fer.

Yeah no pressure on South Africa at all :))) :)))

What pressure ? What's the worst that can happen ? We get beaten by Australia again ? Do you really think that will be a big deal to anyone ?

Aussie on the other hand will be in a cold sweat about losing to S.a after all the rubbish they've spoken over the years.

You can deflect all you want but the upcoming series is the best chance you have ever had to beat the Aussie team at home. And ya know it :D

Actually we've had plenty of good chances. The cronje/donald/rhodes/pollock teams etc. And we will have plenty of chances in the future. Australia are trying to hold on to their aura....we have none. We're both gambling for the same prize, only we don't have anything to risk.

All I've heard is "The South Africans will choke and Australia will wine easily"

that's a lot of trash talk to back up. Worst case scenario we fulfil predictions and nobody uis surprised including our fans....or we win and the egg is solidly on your faces. So keep talking yoursevles up and putting yourselves under pressure.

Yes but we have a much weaker team than you have faced before. That is undeniable. Your team may not be as strong as some in the recent past but the difference is not as pronounced as it is with Australia.

Won't be egg on Aus faces if South Africa win. If South Africa win they will get congratulated for achieving something no side has been able to do for 15 years.

The only difference between Aus and SA were Warne and Mcgrath. Now the South African batter's will face a much easier task against the likes of Lee, Johnson, Clarke, Tait e.t.c. South African bowling attack just might put pressure on the Aussie batting line up.

But Agreed, this is the weakest Australian team ever.

Not ever, but the weakest for the past 10 years certainly.

Quit joking joker. AB De Villiers handed his wicket to Shakib on a platter, and Kallis looks like his vision is heading the same way as Rudi's. His next 11 overs after getting Kallis went for 47 runs.
But then again, I guess he'll grab a couple of tailenders' wickets, get a five-for, and you'll again be moaning about how much better he is than Afridi. :afridi

Here's comiong mighty mackaya....nerver seen him last more than 3 balls against a spinner.

Bit of a golden arm is Shakib, he was getting caned and then 3 wickets in a flash.

It's rarely dull when he's got the ball in hand!

9 down.....!!!

150 ahead or something ...interesting if bangladesh can get 200 ahead. the wicket is taking turn and bounce.

He's not bad. That looping type of spinning stuff mushie used to bowl.

S.A 429 ALL out

and as per usual Bangla have already lost a wkt

8/1
