Yes definitely should have tried a younger captain for T20s but with Pak you never know as that could have created groups within the team so Malik was considered safe option.
 
Shadab Khan has looked bang average for a few games now. He needs a rest or the tour to end soon
 
This kid will play for 15 years in SAF colors. His surname is English (Malan), but first name sounds like Farshi/Urdu - can anyone confirm his ethnicity? Looks more brown (no offense :) ) than white or black.

My hunch is kid is mixed race - after Kok, first Hamza and then this kid ... and they already has Markram - still PP is concerned about SAF's cricket future, that too with Rabada 24, N'gidi 23, Mulder 21 and Mahraj 27, Olivier 26 ..........

Hendricks has owned pakistani bowlers in both formats.

And all the dubutants have come in and crushed our bowlers.
 
Last 2 matches including the last ODI Shadab has been hammered. And by not having another spin option he cant even be benched
 
This stage will be make or break of this game. If Pakistan manages to get 3-4 wickets inside 12 overs. They'll win it
 
More than Grant, I doubt what Arthur is doing - he is South African, this is J'burg ... and Shadab is bowling at 100K!!!!

Gotta give it air & not bowl too full. That's the only advice he should get. Saifi made it easier for him
 
This is what Malik brings to the side, absolute despondency eventually. Mate, why are you bowling first and not getting the combination right in getting wickets up front???

His first name and surname both are Dutch. His brother is Pieter Malan who was in Test squad. He is not of mixed race. He's Afrikaner. In easy words, He is white.

Yes he is still work in progress and at this stage you need replacements incase guy is under pressure or out of rythm.

There are quite a lot of spin options available as well and when ever one is playing non subcontinental team there should be more than two spinners in the squad.

Hasan has been playing the game for what nearly 2-3 years now.

He should be setting up his own fields and knowing what the batsmen are trying to do. Bowlers who are playing just for a couple of months are setting up their own field and read what is happening.

Pakistan don't possess a modern mindset or anything that they can do even they can't plan or set the right fields.
 
If Imad had continued, then a wicket would have been gone in the PP

Pressure was building, but malik ruined it with his horrible captaincy
 
Imad’s 4 overs have been gold. He alone has made sure SA’s run rate had not gone out of control.

Dussen is a rock. Maybe the pace of T20 cricket will force him to lose concentration.

agreed. Hate this fake swag from Shadab, Hasan and Faheem. Also Sarfraz full of ugly looks without performances. Imad has won many games for Pakistan with his bowling and batting. He is much much better player than I thought.
 
I would give the new ball to Imad in ODIs as well considering how ineffective pacers have been except Shaheen

How is Janneman Dutch? Never ever met a Malan in Holland either.

Pieter is proper Dutch though.

The last time junaid set his own field he got dropped (after hit for 4 and getting out someone on Yorker I think against SL discussed in game on hai) these captains and their egos
 
This is where malik should bowl, but he won't because he has to open the bowling as a captain
 
When you bowl too full as a leg spinner, you make it easy for batsmen to get the pitch of the ball and play it like a normal ball
 
Going at 6 an over here SA. Good bowling. Don’t mess it up again.

Absolute units! Proper Athletes and gun fielders alongside the fact that they really pack a punch with the bat! They have Specimens like AB and Faf to look up to! Guys who take their fitness seriously.

Last I saw, Pakistani fans were raving about a guy who they wanted to play called Abid Ali, his pics suggest that he works night shifts at a kebab shop!
 
Now bowled short. Gotta bowl bit full. Shadab really needs some coaching

Actually, for a batsman first thing you should look at his shot making ability - how crisply he can hit across 360. Defense, batting intelligence, shot selection comes with age and experience. He is hitting (just out) every ball middle of the bat from pacers and looks very balanced in his stance; no reason why he can't make it. AdV is gone, Amla is 36, Faf 35, JP 34, Miller probably 30, Dussen & Reeza are also 29+ - after WC, there will be at least 3 openings in SAF line-up; he has age, opportunity and talent to make it big - why not?
 
Zaman isn't bad, but malik is more accomplished and should be taking the ball

Have to realize that its the first ever tour of SA for guys like Shadab, Hassan, Faheem and pitches and grounds are not very easy to adapt.
 
Dussen is a perfect replacement for Amla as a Test number 3.
 
This is oddball captaincy. Malik is a more regular bowler than Fakhar Zaman. Should have gone with him
