I think SL should bat as long as possible, no question of looking beyond today. By the end of today they should look to get the lead beyond 400.

SA would be hoping to restrict the lead to say 350 - 370 ..... something they might chase, though even that would be very tough, considering SA habit of choking.

What a performance by Lanka. Totally written off after the first test and here they are , in with a strong chance of winning a test at Durban.

And the fact that the turnaround has been largely due to Samarweera, long considered unfit for batting on these tracks, makes this even more remarkable.

Tahir is a pretty average bowler, I would say that he needs the batsman to make a mistake to get him out.

I think SA should practically think about playing 4 fast bowlers, and get duminy in the side as a relief bowler.

400 runs lead looking far now, Sangakara is the KEY here

Not much batting to come after this partnership.

SL must try and get a 50 run partnership here.

Chandimal should realize the situation. Lots of overs to play here, no need for stupid shot .....

Lovelanka: "Hope SL wont get carried away with the current lead. the wicket still has runs in it. with one 100 or 150+ partnership anything around 350 might be able to chase. taking the lead past 400 is what SL should be thinking."

SL should not take any chance here.... just bat out the session. Lot's of time left in this Test.

SL lead by 378 with 5 wickets in hand. They should be aiming for a 450 lead and then try and take another 10 wickets and win their 1st test match in a long time.

looks like S.A durban Hoodoo will haunt them again!

Till yesterday, Tilakratne as the only Lankan with a test 100 in SA> In this test alone, they have had two batsmen scoring 100s, Samara and now Sanga.

Brilliant effort.

What are the odds on SA producing an absolutely grassy track for the series decider now?

SL 249/7 - Both set batsmen gone now.

419 the lead, SL tailenders might as well just slog and see how many more they can add to the total here!

SA are gonna get lamped.

England's grip on the number one spot tightens :P

Hmm. I really want SA to win but this is just toooooo big of a 4th innings total.

34/0.
I really think South Africa can win this!
Graeme Smith is a terrefic opener and matchwinner, he will have to lead his team to win this match.

If they win this it will be the highest succesful run chase.

Atleast two S.A batsmen would have to make massive 100s to even get close to this 450 target!

SL should win this match.

Best case scenario is for SA to reach 250/2 and even then it's still megaly difficult. Odds on SL.

too much class at the crease at the moment

hope they get a big partnership.

Pitch looks to have lost a bit of spice.

Herath bowling too quick and full, he is going to be relied on in this situation, and needs to reassess after lunch.

Was a steaming delivery from Fernando to remove Smith, which will give Sri Lanka hope.

S.A 86/1 at lunch. Amla and rudolph need to bat all day for S.A to even have a sniff here!

Rudolph goes immediately, yet another superb Mahela slip catch in test cricket.

To chase this, SA need at least 2 centuries and then a few good contributions from others.
