South Punjab Province and cricketing landscape of Pakistan

Most likely by next season, we will have another province, quite a large one in Pakistan, making the total of 5 provinces. Add to that a federal area team, would be a perfect number of 6 cricketing units. Will South Punjab be able to make a strong team ? I think so. IK always visioned regional cricket units and with all those future units already have a team in PSL, it would make perfect sense to strengthen regional cricket not just for PSL but also in FC cricket . Like Australia , fewer but stronger regional teams will improve the standard of domestic competition would be good for Pakistan cricket. For kids in schools it be easier to remember the boundaries of the provinces with alternatives names ( just kidding ). Yes Zalmi Province ( KPK) , Qalander province ( Punjab ), Sultan province ( South Punjab ), King province ( Sindh ) Gladiators province ( Baluchistan ) and the United Capital of Pakistan.

If we can make a North Punjab province we will have a more stronger team than south Punjab. Many current active top players at domestic are from north punjab.
