Notable inductions of Azam Khan, Usman Salahudin and Naseem Shah for this season.

Some inductions from city cricket:

Sharron Siraj: 23 years old, highest run scorer in Southern Punjab cricket association with an average of 74 and SR of 81
Hamayun Altaf: 20 years old 10th highest run scorer in with average of 37.
Kaleem Ullah: Pacer with 13 wickets in 5 matches with an average of 16
Mohammad Junaid: 21 years old SLA, highest wicket taker (39) with avg of 20
Yousuf Babar: 23 years old left handed batsman, 8th highest run scorer with an averaged of 56
Waqar Hussain: 27 years old, 6th highest run scorer with an avg of 75 and SR of 81

I dont see much wrist spin options in the squad.

South Punjab doing really amazing things.
They brought Aaron summers last year also , While other provinces are sleeping.
Especially Sind who are busy playing TTFs and Balochistan which has a sifrashi coach who brought in his average brother in team.

How did that Aaron Summers guy end up doing? I saw in his first couple of List-A matches, he got smashed.

SP actually had some good players to form a good T20 team however, I think they lacked a few things;

1) Too monotonous in their approach especially their bowling powerplays where they bowled Yamin and Naseem in almost every other match for first few overs, teams knew what was coming their way. Hassan Khan or Agha Salman could have easily been tried with the new ball based upon right hander or left hander opening for other team.

2) Needed atleast one international experienced batsmen for the middle overs. Just like overall team middle order also lacked international experience.

3) Appointed captain didnt even captain much in domestic cricket previously. So someone (even if young) with past experience of leading sides should have been drafted into the side at the time of team selections.

SP had a lot of decent T20 players/ support players but missed few of the necessities.

Sohaib Maqsood, who is part of Pakistan’s upcoming T20 World Cup squad, has decided to surrender the captaincy of Southern Punjab to focus on his batting, during the ongoing National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi.

This decision was announced before the Balochistan versus Southern Punjab match on Friday.

All-rounder Aamer Yamin, who has replaced Maqsood as captain, came for the toss and explained the situation.

"Sohaib bhai wanted to focus on his batting and he himself backed this decision," said Yamin following the toss against Balochistan.

Later, Southern Punjab’s coach Sajjad Akbar also confirmed that Yamin will lead the side for the remainder of the tournament.

Maqsood had responded to the criticism over his selection for the T20 World Cup squad in style with a solid performance in the National T20 Cup match against Northern, couple of days back, where he scored a phenomenal 75-run knock off just 47 balls

Their Problem lies in Lower middle order with Azam khan the weakest link, should immediately call Kashif Ali to play in middle order for t20 specially.

Horrible season so far - bottom in the National T20 Cup

Ali Majid spinner for Southern Punjab

I saw him today and I get the feel that he has a tricky action, bowls at a difficult line and length. Thought?

Southern Punjab squad for the QeA tournament:

Mohammad Abbas (c), Aamer Yamin, Ali Usman, Azam Khan (wk), Hassan Khan, Imran Rafiq, Mohammad Ilyas , Mohammad Imran Randhawa, Mohammad Junaid, Naved Yasin, Tayyab Tahir, Umar Siddiq (wk), Waqar Hussain (wk), Yousaf Babar, Zain Abbas and Zia-ul-Haq.

That looks like a staggeringly weak squad with very few established batsmen. Some of these squad selections are highly lopsided.

Southern Punjab squad for the QeA tournament:

No Agha Salman? That is extremely confusing.

Weak Team half the players added are averaging below 35
