Srilanka with limited resources achieved a lot. REvolutionanized cricket with slingers, mystery spinners (before Afghanistan), always did well in Asia cup. An example team for how teams should evolve after becoming full member. Oppposite of what BD is doingDespite all the divisions in South Asia - India and Pakistan...Pakistan and Afghanistan...India and Bangladesh, I find it funny how everyone loves Sri Lanka. Not that I disagree.
Congratulations to Lanka and BD, good super 4 to look forward to
Naah that final was one sided2016 as well right, when they had that controversial post with Dhoni’s severed head or something.
Only one which was always its independent thing throughout history.Despite all the divisions in South Asia - India and Pakistan...Pakistan and Afghanistan...India and Bangladesh, I find it funny how everyone loves Sri Lanka. Not that I disagree.
Most hilarious one was them failing to score 3 runs 3 balls or something. They lost the match with 2 set batsmen lolNaah that final was one sided
I meant close as in they qualified 3 times for the final instead of 2. I don’t think at various points they never went into any tourney as favoritesNaah that final was one sided

That's true. Sri Lanka's rise was remarkably rapid. They looked like a very ordinary side in 1992, and in '96 they won the World Cup. And I will always hold their performance in that final and Aravinda de Silva's knock in the highest regard.Srilanka with limited resources achieved a lot. You seems more upset on afghanistan losing than actual afghan fans .Your ipl cheerleader are out so first digest thatTrophy will go to Delhi and Mumbai. #HaiHimmat to rok ke dikhao. Full challenge to everyone![]()

that was a month later in the world cup. Most hilarious one was them failing to score 3 runs 3 balls or something. They lost the match with 2 set batsmen lol
Ibrahim and Azmat feel like tailormade players for ODI. Nabi too actually eventhough he is pretty old now.In 2023 world cup they were one catch away from having an amazing tournament. Their batting suits one dayers a lot

Bangladesh v Sri Lanka in Dubai could be close if both teams go spin-heavyOh well, BD qualify. One win guaranteed for PAK, SL and India, no problem.
Both these guys are not fit to play international cricket.Afghanistan's T20 batting needs a revamp.
They need to replace Karim Janat and Gulbadin.
Need some proper hitters.

I think SL have pace threat too though. Don't think Chameera and Thushara will be easy to play on that Dubai wicketBangladesh v Sri Lanka in Dubai could be close if both teams go spin-heavy
Cricket grew popular in Sri Lanka lot earlier than BD. SL has decent population not too big, economy been study, built good cricket infrastructure over the years. Dont compare with BD as it started cricket a lot late, with a huge population, economy wasnt doing too well, cricket never had the urge amongst general public. 1999 cwc onwards cricket gained momentum, 2007 onwards gained pace and it became the most popular sport in the land, really.after knocking out India out of the 2007 cricket world cup.Srilanka with limited resources achieved a lot. Seem like you can't accept the challenge and hiding behind Afghanistan. #NahihaihimmatYou seems more upset on afghanistan losing than actual afghan fans .Your ipl cheerleader are out so first digest that
Yes boy!Meow!: who’s crying now
In T20 they need a complete revamp. Their dot ball percentage is ridiculous high. Even Gurbaz has about 45% dot balls in T20 internationals tha tincludes his game against minnows.Ibrahim and Azmat feel like tailormade players for ODI. Nabi too actually eventhough he is pretty old now.

So same as last week.
Bangladesh v Sri Lanka in Saturday
India v Pakistan in Sunday
So far this tournament has gone to plan for the broadcasters and sponsors
....barring a few obvious roadblocks ofcourse![]()
I would argue that someone like Fizz will be even harder to play. Because taking the pace off the ball has proven more effective for the pacers on that wicketI think SL have pace threat too though. Don't think Chameera and Thushara will be easy to play on that Dubai wicket
No shame in admitting india is currently superior side and pak is no matchSeem like you can't accept the challenge and hiding behind Afghanistan. #Nahihaihimmat
I'll give it back in same language . That's the my style , Got it. Now Go and checked The Post which I quote.

SL cricket board was not exactly rich. Their only system was school system. AT the end of the day you need talent, players who can explore other things. In all the 100 years of cricket did anyone think of bowling parallel at high speed like Malinga? Ajantha Mendis introduced carrom ball. They are smarter also highly competitive.Cricket grew popular in Sri Lanka lot earlier than BD. Perhaps. But toss will also play a crucial role. Let's see.I would argue that someone like Fizz will be even harder to play. Because taking the pace off the ball has proven more effective for the pacers
Yes they have some horrible strike rates, their top order. Ibrahim Zadran does not seem cut out for T20 cricket at all. And he is one of their key batsmen. In T20 they need a complete revamp. Their dot ball percentage is ridiculous high. Even Gurbaz has about 45% dot balls in T20 internationals tha tincludes his game against minnows.
Then don't talk big if you know the reality. Poster bring India in discussion when there was no need and I gave them shut up call.No shame in admitting india is currently superior side and pak is no match
I would definitely back Sri Lanka to win too. But I think it could be a close game.Perhaps. But toss will also play a crucial role. Let's see.
Sri Lanka play very well in these Asia Cups
BD management is more interested in doing politics and other shenanigans. But finally that Pappn guy is out, hoping for some good things.Srilanka with limited resources achieved a lot. congratulationsAll over.
SL win.
BD and SL are through to Super Four.
When Aslanka was dismissed , I stopped watching the game. Went out and Saw BD fans Celebrating in stands from tv at a store. I knew at the moment its doneThanks.

Yeah starting with retiring 45 year old players no matter how good they are.In T20 they need a complete revamp. Their dot ball percentage is ridiculous high. Even Gurbaz has about 45% dot balls in T20 internationals tha tincludes his game against minnows.
I think you have some comprehensive issues. Read my last post again and again until you understand ,my English is not great so maybe you need more time to understand my language. What big talk ?haara afghanistan hai mirchen tmen lage hai
Don't care anymore about results. Glad we went through. Going to have good weekends couple of popcorn matches coming up.Hopefully BD will pick up a win or two in Super Four.
Let's see what happens.

Thank you SRL!
There can be 3 way tie between SRL PAK BD.We should care about more results.
2 wins in Super Four would be fantastic. But, they are likely to lose all games or win just 1. Let's see.
Turning point of the match.

Rashid Khan to Kamindu Mendis, no run
loops up but falls agonizingly beyond Rashid. And Rashid then fluffs his lines attempting a run-out and is now in pain, having possibly tweaked his back! Fizzed in on a length on middle and leg. Kamindu plays too early and the ball floats off the leading edge. Rashid tries to get back in his follow-through but the ball just evades him. Kusal, in the meantime, goes walkabouts and would have been caught napping had Rashid hit the stumps with his throw. That turn and throw motion, though, seems to have hurt Rashid
Hain?Jayasuriya has really had impact on Srilanka . By far best batting side this tournament. Can’t see Pakistan winning vs Srilanka
The way they beat Bangladesh and Afghanistan sends a strong message . The HK match they already had it in hand it was just last few overs they started giving away wickets . Never looked like losing that game . Meanwhile Pakistan batting has struggled vs UAE Oman and Afghanistan tooHain?
They struggled to chase 150 odd against Hong Kong
Pakistan fans are too pessimistic towards their own team.
Chill out man.
First tell me who is gonna score 150 against them ? Khushdil? Saim? haris? WHO??Hain?

Now watch as my predictions come to fruition.Who can beat SL in Super Fours?
Is this another cry to bring Babar back because you think he can score?First tell me who is gonna score 150 against them ? Khushdil? Saim? haris? WHO??
OUR captain is striking at 57 in the event so far... What excuse do we have for that??? Bro. I am not trying to bring Babar or riz back..they were dropped for obvious reasons but you gotta accept the reality that the replacement in the form of Salman was not gonna work...Is this another cry to bring Babar back because you think he can score?
Pakistan lost all of their last 5 T20's against Sri Lanka and Babar played in all of the.
Babae averaged 15 and struck at 89 in those matches.
Give it to him straight Hellion. I've started to enjoy reading some of your comments. Babar fans need a reality checkIs this another cry to bring Babar back because you think he can score?

We saw this team against UAE, OMAN and india already.. I am not pessimistic. I am worried.Get a grip man
Stop being so pessimistic
Asia cup is going to be disaster for them, the rest of it too...I cannot deny Pakistan batting has not looked convincing in UAE so far, and especially batting first in Dubai. We haven’t been fluent.
I still do not believe these players/batters are bad.
They are good players. They will show it. The conditions in Abu Dhabi look better for batting
And why did we shape up team wholly if batting line up was supposed to struggle the same way?Asia cup is going to be disaster for them, the rest of it too...
InshaAllah it will notAsia cup is going to be disaster for them, the rest of it too...
The same UAE who you belted in Sharjah? We saw this team against UAE, OMAN and india already.. I am not pessimistic. I am worried.
And their school system produced players for them. BD till this day doesnt even have a proper LIST A playing system, city based teams against each other. Thing is Sri Lanka had institutions in place early on they did their work grassroots. BD never had any such culture. Cricket seemed forced upon us.SL cricket board was not exactly rich. Their only system was school system. AT the end of the day you need talent, players who can explore other things.
