Who are these guys?

Some pretty talented names there and is a decent squad which cant be taken lightly by any means.

Who are these guys?

If you follow cricket then you would know these names and if you dont then I am pretty sure you wouldnt have known few players who are missing except few.

Couple of debutants in Bhanuka Rajapaksha and Minod Bhanuka other than that all players have been playing cricket for Srl in couple of years.

Pakistan need to play their youngsters. I don't want to see the senior and established names wasting their time playing at this level.

Looking forward to watch Fernando.
This guy is pure talent still remember his 100 in wc

Perfect reply. Acting if they sent all unknown players.

Thats a better squad than i was expecting after the pull out which is good news...Any cricket is good and especially for two weeks tour which will be the longest since the Attacks. Inshallah everything will be good.

These are actually pretty good squads. Sri Lanka are after all sending a strong XI! Good cricket coming up for Pakistan fans but I think Pakistan should still win easily though.

Another clean sweep coming up.I cant see the lankans winning any single match on this tour.

If pakistan include some new faces , then it would be a very good contest..

Right time to induct some new middle order batsmen in place of Hafeez and Malik. They should also rest some players... Try out a new captain may be Babar Azam or Haris Sohail... Rest Sarfraz, Amir and Shaheen.

Not a bad squad. Will give a better fight than the one that toured 2 years ago. Avishka Fernando could cause the Pak bowlers some trouble. These players will only benefit from this tour as they will have a huge opportunity to show their talent as they will be leading the team without the seniors.

Under the circumstances, great job by SL board. Not a bad squad at all. Youngsters will be motivated to consolidate their place in the team and displace some of the " Hafeez and Sarfraz" of SL team.

I'm confident a high profile team will be visiting Pakistan in a year or so.

This is an embarrassment I don't see the point of this series.

Not a completely useless squad.

Would have obviously preferred to see the likes of Mathews, Malinga and Perera but this squad isn't as bad as I'd feared. Only a couple of unknowns.

Will be at all the ODIs iA.

Kumara Rajitha and Pradeep is very close to their first choice test pace attack.

I will not be surprise if these new SL players outplayed our main team. Since Misbah is the coach team will adopt new strategy to play safe to score 250 at least. If SL played attacking cricket our bowlers will not have enough runs to defend.
If Sarfraz is the captain we will win the series 2-1 and loose 3-0 if Azhar Ali becomes captain. There are some rumor about Misbah's meeting with Azhar to come out of retirement and lead the team.

With Dickwella and Thisara Perera back in SL after no CPL now should have been told that they needed to tour now as national duty or at least Perera should offer himself to tour as he has in 2017 and found it safe.

Won't they rather just play or unless they can afford not to get paid and just sit and relax in SL in their homes.

Highly unlikely under Misbah who rely on too much experience. It is possible for him to bring Rahat Ali and Azhar Ali to replace Afridi and Imam/Fakhar.

Sri Lanka suffered an injury scare when its one-day captain Lahiru Thirimanne suffered a pain in his back while training ahead of the tour to Pakistan and his condition is currently being monitored by the physio.

“There was a slight concern about Thirimanne, he had some pain on one of his discs, that’s what the physio said,” said team manager Ashantha de Mel. “But so far they have said that it is nothing serious and hopefully he will be alright.”

De Mel said that Thirimanne complained of a pain in his back when he was running. “At the moment he is not under any pain or anything but by Friday we will know exactly his situation. More or less I think he should be okay,” De Mel said.

The rest of the ODI and T20I squad have been under training in the gym and De Mel said that they will have their first practice sessions under lights on September 19 and 20 at the R Premadasa Stadium.

“The team is doing their normal work out and getting prepared, once they get the clearance they will go,” said De Mel.

Sri Lanka named two separate squads for the tour 15-member squad under the captaincy of Thirimanne for the ODIs and a 16-member squad led by all-rounder Dasun Shanaka for the T20Is. As there is a difference of only one player between the two squads, the teams will leave together.

Sri Lanka’s tour to Pakistan was put under a cloud last week when the Prime Minister’s Office received reliable information of a possible terrorist threat on the Sri Lanka team while touring Pakistan.

Following that information Sri Lanka Cricket said that it wanted to reassess the security situation in Pakistan and have sought the assistance of the Defence Ministry for clearance to make the tour.

In the meantime according to the Pakistan Urdu daily ‘Daily Jang’ the ICC is also carrying out its own independent review of the security situation in Pakistan before appointing its match officials (neutral umpires and match referees) for the ODI and T20I series.

The ICC will analyse the security plans to be put in place by the Pakistan government before appointing their match officials.

Commenting on the ICC’s independent survey of the security in Pakistan De Mel said, “That is a good guideline. If the ICC feels that it is safe then there is some justification.”

The last time an international series was played in Pakistan against Zimbabwe in 2015 the ICC did not appoint any neutral match officials and asked both the countries to oversee cricketing matters.

International teams have shied away from touring Pakistan since 2009 on the grounds of security after the Sri Lanka team bus was attacked by terrorists during a tour there.

The Sri Lanka team is due to leave for Pakistan on September 24 and play a series of three ODIs in Karachi on September 27, 29 and October 2 and three T20Is in Lahore on October 5, 7 and 9.

This was excellent opportunity for Pakistan to bring in youngsters , but again Misbah will mess with that.

Tell ICC, what's the rush, take your time --------------ridiculous, ICC should have done it weeks if not months ago.
