Sri Lanka close on 315/6 on day 1 of the 2nd Test against Pakistan at Galle

Hasan Ali is a rubbish bowler. He will keep letting us loose matches.

We cannot expect to win with 1.5 bowlers. Hasan, Nauman and Aga are rubbish. Nasim is ok so as Yasir (too old) and Nawaz.

Lol Nouman with 2 no balls. I would've anyday retained Sajid in the squad over him, atleast for SL.

Good save on the boundary by Fawad. His commitment and fitness is there

Only in Pakiatan would you have a bowler become the leader of the pack when he's consistently deteriorating in form. Gut feeling soft mentality over professionalism is the way forward for us.

Pakistani pace bowlers looking toothless, Shaheen is seriously very under rated.

I would agree. It's so much more difficult when you have to carry an attack on your own. Much easier bowling surrounded by quality bowlers.

Nothing in the pitch so far for our pacers or spinners. The Sri Lankans got turn in the first test on day 2. This could end up as a vital toss to win.

Bowlers need to string up maidens and the captain has to dry up the singles with his field placings. Babar as captain gives singles on a platter to the opposition. This results in zero pressure on the batsmen

Faheem probably would've been a better pick Nouman. Atleast he always keeps it tight.

All our main bowlers have been used and none have been able to string up a breakthrough. SL well in control

Why isn't Yasir here yet. Nawaz and him should've been the 1st 2 spinners here.

Lucky break there for pak. Should try and drive home the advantage

This Salman looks like nothing player and got opportunity by good connections.

Nawaz is clearly a better spinner than Nauman but how on earth has Nauman managed to compile that sort of domestic record?
He should be averaging around 42 in FC cricket, probably to do with Grays ball.

Mendis run out today

Maybe it's his age. Just too old now.

He made merry with the kookaburra not grays. Plundered some 120 wickets in 2 seasons with it. But lately, he looked ordinary even in domestics. Nawaz outbowled him by far in qea final.
Tbf, at the start he did well in international too vs SA. Probably that was all he had left in the tank.

Nauman is going through what Zulfiqar Babar went through, decline due to old age.

Lol Agha salman is a michael vaughan. Yousaf pathan level test offie.
Babar is overbowling him for no reason.

I would've started with Naseem right after lunch. Give him one spell here, then another with the new ball after 80 overs . It swings in the evening.

Really poor bowling by the spinners no consistency in line and length

Very lucky Pakistan. They have not bowled well this morning but somehow have taken 3 wickets.

Sl keeping Pakistan in the game with some casual cricket spinners have been really ordinary this morning

Too many easy runs for Mathews.

Need to tighten up the bowling.

A bit more alert and Hassan could have caught that at fine leg.

Babar as a fielding captain leaves a lot to be desired. Zero energy, no desire to dry up the singles, no men close to the bat. Why does Pakistan always end up with such uneducated unimaginative captains? When will we actually end up with a captain who can actually read the game well and make sharp decisions on the spot?

Hasan Ali should be playingfrom dressing room. This guy can't ball, bat or field. Useless player.

One of the SL commentators pointing out the biomechanical flaws in Naseem's action. Naseem's front leg lands at an angle and then straightens.

Something that I can't believe the bowling coaches he has worked with haven't picked up.

Naseem is bowling well with pace that's why he is the fastest bowler in Asia in test cricket.

Yasir getting good turn for day 1. 4th innings could be gnarly.

Looks like the Sri Lankans spooked out after the first test loss and made a flat wicket for the whole 5 days it seems.

I don't think it's a flat wicket.... Wicket is taking turn and will support spinners... 4th inning will not be easy

last I checked he was bowling in 136 kph range in this test, what was his quickest delivery ?

LOL you are watching the wrong match.
In his first spell he was bowling 140ks consistently even in 2nd spell he bowled 143 ks.

He is definitely much faster in this test match as he has been the fastest pacer from Asia in test cricket.

Nouman playing as a specialist bat here. Even his body language tells he isn't expecting a wicket anytime soon.

Sri Lanka has good batting lineup but bowling is minnow level.

Matthews, Karunaratne and Chandimal are 40 averaging batters.

Hassan Ali bowling speed (127 -128 Km/h) tells status of his form , he should not be in team . Harris Rauf could have been better option considering his speed , he may get reverse swing on this wicket.

This Test is showing how important Shaheen is to Pakistani bowling attack.

Without him, Pakistani bowling attack is significantly weaker.

100% agreed. 5’6-7” fast bowler bowing in 120’s is as harmless as it can get. Need high pace on these pitches.
