Pak got to be careful about the new ball, could hurt Younis most likely

Good stuff lads, now please just get through the second new ball to the end of the day and we will have done very well.

Good to see us picking up as many runs as possible before the new balls arrives. The test match is nicely balanced now.

Even Herath been milked like a cow now which is good as means no bowler is being allowed to settle here!

Looks like Umar won't be playing in this series or the one against Aus, which is a shame, because he's one of the few Pakistani batsmen who's consistently good to watch.

I think conditions in Galle in the morning will provide assistance on each day and also just shows its crucial to make inroads with the new ball, our two seamers will need to do some damage with new ball when it comes to our turn to bowl later in the game.

Credit where due, Pakistan have fought back well.

Shafiq scoring runs now will be bad for Pakistan's long term prospects though, he's keeping out more talented batsmen.

Why, if he scoring runs, that a good thing....
pursuing with him, if not scoring, then that would be stopping deserved batsman chances,

Scoring runs 1 every 7 innings to save your spot isn't good....

All have better domestic stats than 'man of no consistency'.

You're seeing Pak play after month with a new batting coach and a new head coach, should leave your previous opinions in the past.

Pakistan is actually batting well in Galle. What is this sorcery ?! We never play well in Galle, got a terrible record there.

Feel more confident about our prospects in Test cricket than I have in a long time, but we just need to sort out that top-order. Middle order is fine, but we need a settled opening partnership and no.3 batsman. Manzoor, Shehzad and Ali not the answer right now.

Great knock here by Younis. Would love to see how he stands up against the 2nd new ball.

Domestic stats are not the be-all & end-all. Asad has shown that he belongs to the international stage and has scored against quality attacks. And at the moment he's again showing his composure and quality.

Shafiq needs to play like this more often. A good innings after a streak of single digit score isnt good enough. And for some anyone who criticises asad is not a hater. Grow up

Yeah and what about Shafiq's remarkable Test stats :pfft

Form is temporary. Class is forever. Watch him score a beautiful knock and sit there bemoaning your bad luck and wishing misery on the poor lad.

Brownlie has a hundred against SA, that doesn't make him a great bat or talent now does it?

Saying that he shouldn't play a good knock because he'd get more chances? That's definitely a hateful comment. The person making such comments needs to grow up.

Yeah and what about the other innings when his neck isn't on the chopping block?..

59/3 at lunch to 240/4 we have fought back well but still have maybe lost 1 more wicket at this stage so we need to get to end of play just 4 down/
