If Mathews attacks Pakistan's batsmen from ball one, it's hard to see them scoring more than 200.

200 is far fetch anything between 150-200 is winning total against Herath and on this pitch, The max chasable for Pakistan was 150
 
Wait, why aren't people lambasting and making mockery of Matthews SR of 30 in a test match?

Why does Misbah get ridiculed for it?>

He is a defensive captain.If Pak gets off to a decent start like the first dig, you will see all men on the boundary.

Very similar to Misbah.
 
Yeah, but Rehman is useless on other end. They need to try Ahmed, or maybe even Azhar - Younis. Rehman looks no where near to taking a wicket.

ha trust me, when sanga and mahela are gone, and mathews is the most experienced player and the only reliable run scorer, he will get alot more criticism for slow knocks like these.

Sanga and Mahela already put SL in a strong position, no need to critisize Mathews for strike rate as they already have a substantial lead and have plenty of time in the match.

No he's not that silly, that will be like giving up and putting up the white flag. Wickets are going to win SL this Test, not parking fielders on the boundary.
 
is shehzaad bowling the 50th over of the ODI??? what crap field set for him. another pathetic decision by defensive misbah. why cant he have the guts to bring on the fielders inside the circle and let there be deep mid wicket. with this field set the will get easy singles and there is no point in giving him the over. good idea to give shehzaad the bowl but pathetic field setting
 
The plan is Lanka will bat whole day and an hour tomorrow and give Pak two and half session to bat which is enough for them to bowled us out.

At least my points are objective and based on fact, you're no better than Savak when it comes to Misbah.

Yes I know Misbah can be overly criticized at times, but when he deserves to get ripped into, why should people hold back?

I've been a supporter of Misbahs for a while now, but now I think it's the right time for him to move on.

Your posts are completely biased towards your own favorites.

For instance, Umar Akmal is not a slogger.

Have you seen the way he bats? Only a blind man will say he doesn't slog every 4th or 5th ball to legside.

And for your kind information I don't want Misbah in the team, because he's 40 years old and we need to move on, but we need to find a replacement before removing him.

But it's fans like you , who have two sets of characteristics for different players who make it tedious.

Now if you don't like me, switch off your computer and don't comment on this thread.

No need to advertise your likes and dislikes.

His time is almost done, hopefully his career ends on a good note and he accepts his time is over, unlike many ex-captains of the past.

I agree too. I am barely on here, but Aman makes a lot of anti-Misbah posts without any logic or reason.

Lets keep the negative attitude with yourself. Misbah and the team are doing the best they can given the situation. Pakistan is also without Junaid, so basically just 3 bowlers. Good effort by all so far.

My opinion and favorites? Wake up mate, any neutral in the world rates Umar as your best young batsmen. Whether he slogs or not is irrelevant, it's not like the alternatives you have are world class and are impossible to dislodge from the side.

Like you rate the NZ team which couldnt' win in Bangladesh better than the Pakistan team despite being ranked lower than Pakistan.....

It will be objective once they are ranked higher than Pakistan.


Umar is not the best young batsmen in the world, but he is a useful batsmen for Pakistan, the best for Pakistan, I agree to that.
 
I'm sorry, ok I admit a side which has been 3 consecutive series and has won matches in SL and Aus in the past are not better than a side who hasn't won a series in close to 3 years.

Basically the match is over. In the 2nd innings we will not able to score more than 150.
 
I just had a dream that Pakistan chased 400 with Misbah scoring a century :O

He is.

He doesn't play any shot along the ground, and 50-60 percent of shots are pre-meditated

That they work for him is another story.

I still think he's best batsmen for Pakistan.
 
Good ball but dont take the new ball. without junaid its just a waste of time. keep bowling the old ball.
 
As Seniors players Misbah and Younis should learn from Mathew and Dickwalla how to save wickets and get run.
 
Saeed Ajmal to Dickwella, no run, what a ball. That pitched on leg stump and missed off as he opened up and poked forward. It was bowled quicker, and turned sharply

I think Misbah should ask for help.

Younus Khan can swing the ball and should be given a try with the new ball.

Pakistan doesn't seem desperate to win.
 
We are not chasing this unless mathews goes into sharjah defensive mode. The spin is just too much.
 
Waqar & Misbah combo a super flop. Waqar may be a great bowler but lack of coaching skill.

Only one pacer and he has no skill with the new ball. If junaid was there then it would make sense but since he is not here this is good captaincy and its best to forget about the new ball.

life would have been very easy for Misbah had he picked 3 fast bowlers but he doesn't want to change his pre-series written plans. He's too stubborn to do that.
 
:out but need to get Matthews out or they will keep getting these little partnerships until they are all out.
