The ball gets old after 40 odd overs.From 40-80 overs when you haven't done anything what can you expect to do it just for the next 10-15 overs. moreover the ball gets worse for the bowlers after more usage. When the new ball is available just take it. It doesn't require any Logic to make that simple decision. Only foolish decisions like these would keep on using the old ball.

Wahab got a double strike by getting it to swing just a little back and ajmal is getting massive turn. Why change it if the bowlers dont complain. Wahab can bowl full all he wants but with the new ball youa re just asking for a phainta from even tail enders as there is no junaid. Do you seriously want to see the opening combo of an incompetent wahab,rehman and ajmal as all three are useless with the new ball. Use the old ball as long as possible and ajmal is bowling very well. No need to ruin that.

honestly that's the only explanation that i have as well. Its like when AR bowled those beamers against Bangladesh, Misbah sent him to bat above Umar and Afridi probably only in hope to justify his selection

Now that you mention it, that does seem like the case.I was so shocked when he came out ahead of them.

As of today, anyone with an iota of brain can see that Rehman is dishing out pies literately every ball and that Shehzad was 100x better than him.The later was actually getting some turn and drift.

Those two deliveries didn't have an ounce of swing if you had seen the wickets. And Wahab weren't reversing the ball. Even Prasad is handling Ajmal with ease with the old ball. They are already hammering our bowlers even with this So called Old ball.

If we don't have a good bowler to use the New ball doesn't mean you should never take a new one. does it?? This ugly decision to keep on using the old ball is becoming more than a Joke
