How??

What has he done to be called the best.
His stats are pretty good very good compared to our other batsmen even when batting out of his batting position and you can just tell he has the most potential and i see him doing even better than our other batsmen :usman
THREE bad matches?? :)) when was the last time this guy ever scored big?

Pakistani fans lol

Want to drop a high 30's averaging batsmen for one who averages 17 lol

The world knows what Umar can be, he's just managed by a bunch of morons.

It doesn't matter how many runs he scores, it's better to have a lower average if you get out playing a 'sensible' shot

i think its time misbah leaves as captain and todays performance shows that what all of the players want. to be honest how can they get out like this and its a damn final and your 50-5 in 20 overs?? really? are you playing AUS on AUS pitches???
i see shades of YK captaincy ending repeating where all the team members revolted against em to get rid of him as captain which was wrong and i liked YK as captain but where as today. i hate misbah captaincy and thinking and if we can get rid of him like this so be it but cant stand a pathetic defensive captain like him.. he should leave for good. he lost his form in batting and on top of that we have to bare his crap captaincy too. please please misbah resign as captain.

What a mess our team is in.

Last track was taking spin and was slow, we don't play a spinner.

This time its Jumping and moving all over the place and we drop a seamer.

Pure Comedy.

Maqsood may last till Herath comes, because he's a walking wicket against spin, can imagine maqsood forward defensive and getting lbw.

Looks like Sri Lanka is playing with an associate team (Fiji, Nepal, Ghana)

I love the way how maqsood uses his height to play the ball. easily gets his head on the top and plays it. Text book stuff.

I think this is a good debate actually, and will shape our team in the future. I do not think anybody believes in Sharjeel, and most do not with Hafeez at #3.

As one of the "pro-Umar" camps, I completely agree. The shot today, absolutely MORONIC. No justification for it, cannot be defended at all.

But for a 24 year old, is that "un-fixable"? Maybe, I cannot say for sure. But if I am selecting the team, he gets more chances for me. Umar Akmal plays all the way until the end of the next world cup. And I try to bat him in the top 4 in almost any chance I get.

shhhh dont say such obvious things.
some people here resort to name calling and personal insults if somebody says the ball is moving around.

This is why I wanted them to go with Anwar for Sharjeel. Sharjeel is rubbish anyway, Anwar is surely a better batsman and would have given is more bowling options but our team management MashaAllah :14:

I repeat
Any non-minnow?

1 Century against Afghanistan (not many would have gotten at Century in that situation and we would have lost the match if it weren't for him) and 2 Fifties against Sri Lanka (+ quick unbeaten runs at the end against Bangladesh).

This Umar Akmal shud only play T20I cricket. Useless batsman when it comes to pressure situation in ODIs. Rameez Raja rightly said bring Sarfraz into the ODI squad and make use of his form. Sharjeel must be dropped too. Enough chances. Babar Azam or Fakhar Zaman or Sami Aslam or Umar Amin (as an opener) shud be tried.

And some people will predict who will be the highest scorer of the innings AFTER the innings is over ;)

Unlike you, I already posted at the start, I would not have played Sharjeel. I would have personally played Anwar Ali. He is a good batsman unlike Junaid who cannot bat at all, and Anwar has good movement.

Junaid needs a few days on the bench until he learns to bowl at the death.

An allround Afridi special could do the trick. Now what are the chances of that happening?

What a rubbish cricket team.

Need a fresh approach for the next series. Start by removing Misbah.

Haris, Fawad, Maqsood need to be the pillars of our batting line-up.

This comment on cricinfo sums up Pak's problems:

Haider: "You ask me what's wrong with the Pakistani team and its the lack of intent. Plain and simple. You can't come to the crease with a "weather the storm" mentality. You must come out with a positive mindset, and confidently play your natural game. Look at Alam, the guy should receive a medal for how he is playing. He is a scrappy batsmen who is always looking to score runs. He needs to hold a batting camp for the rest of his peers when they get back to Pakistan. "

When the team is lacking intent and is repetitively losing it is time to make drastic changes regarding team approach.

He's also saying if they need to make captaincy changes to do it now, for the world cup :)

But your 80 years old PCB chairman said, he is not going to press the "panic button"'.
Can u imagine the sense of having a futuristic vision for captaincy?
