Thats confusing me actually, is that a spelling error? I thought his first name was Umer
It's an arabic name. Whichever way you spell it, it ought to be pronounced Umar

straight down the ground from ronaldinho
now frustrated at swing and missof slwoer ball

I think this pitch has flattened quite a bit, nevertheless I think it's a very competitive score.

Sixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsixsix!!!!

Six more, can't emphasise how glad I am to see Rana back :*)

Good job Pakistan - now only if Rana can injur Jaya with a hard drive at him ...

and that's the highest score on the ground
as i write, kulasekara misses run out chance of ammir

288-8 in 50 overs!!!
some good old memories coming back in that innings!! :)

Good score. Now lets see some tight bowling and win this one big.

Finally our batsmen have given the bowlers a target to defend, scores before were indefensible no matter how good our the bowlers bowled. I'd say GAME ONN!!!

has anybody noticed that in all 3 games malik has received an excellent delivery early on??
surely, this suggests factions between malik and lankan players :13:

Some batsmen have this talent of making ordinary deliveries look deadly.
:smalik

should have been a lot more IMO...was at least a 320 run wicket

Today the avg score per wicket fell is 34 , in the first and 2nd games the avg was very well below that per wicket fell , so if every player can contribute with at least 20 runs you have a score of 200 and if one or two players make 50 or 100 that takes us to a very good total.

That is how our players should plan there innnings

Lets raise his average to 51. :)

86 from the last 10 overs. I just love seeing the ball get thwacked over the ropes.

hehehe.... hard to argue witht that :46:

Finally a team effort, instead of just relying/hoping on one or two individuals to fire.

People who wanted rana in the team coz he has improved his batting, should see this now. HE still bats like a tail ender

For a tailender he batted very well dont you think ?? hitting some solid boundaies, just what we needed and were missing at these death overs, razzaq and rana... on top of that both can bowl !!

legendary bowler inthe making. averaging 51 with the bat and 19 with the ball. :aamir :11:

Sixes:

40.3:
Fernando to Umar Akmal, SIX, now the confidence is showing! Clears the front leg and tees off with a lovely pull over midwicket, hit very high in the air and it clears the boundary.

41.2:
Muralitharan to Umar Akmal, SIX, take that! Umar is on song, just using his feet and lofting Murali straight back down the ground for half a dozen.

43.3:
Thushara to Abdul Razzaq, SIX, now there's a shot! Vintage Razzaq hit, clears the front leg and smashes the low full toss over mid-off for a straight six, excellent hitting.

44.4:
Kulasekara to Naved-ul-Hasan, SIX, now its Naved's turn to get it on! Walks down the track nonchalantly and pumps that ball rows back over long-on for six, super shot.

46.2:
Kulasekara to Abdul Razzaq, SIX, that's Razzaq of the old, slower ball, picks it early, and lofts it over cow corner, what a clean hit .

48.6:
Fernando to Naved-ul-Hasan, SIX, another good hit at the death from Naved, planting himself across a low full toss and clubbing the ball over a backpedaling wide long-on's head.

Truly fun stuff to watch from the team you support.

dude I'm thrilled, but again the way our top order folded on itself, well it doesn't bode well for the remaining games

Over 90 runs from the 3 all-rounders - who are more in for their bowling than batting. Most teams will take that.

Pls continue discussion in SL innings thread. Thanks
