if Pakistan were batting, they would have gotten all out for max. 185 from 181-8....but when they are bowling its already 40 runs scored and might be many more to come.

Dilshan being given two chances here...they should have been all out for under 200, some poor umpiring

Well lets hope we can wrap this up ASAP

Sri Lanka 224/9 (65.0 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 75 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

64.6
Danish Kaneria to Dilshan, 1 run

64.5
Danish Kaneria to Thushara, 1 leg bye, lands on a good length on leg stump and turns down, brushes the pads on its way past short fine, they get a leg bye

64.4
Danish Kaneria to Dilshan, 1 run, tossed up on middle, driven down the ground to long-off for a single

64.3
Danish Kaneria to Thushara, 1 run, crashed into the off side towards deep point for a single

64.2
Danish Kaneria to Thushara, no run

64.1
Danish Kaneria to Thushara, no run

the whole team is a shambles but Gul is really not leading the attack at all well

this is frustrating to the extreme...undoing all our hard work here...on the other hand it does show that its not impossible to bat on this wicket, although gul is serving up some delicious pies it has to be said.

Sri Lanka 231/9 (66.0 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 68 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

65.6
Umar Gul to Thushara, no run, fired in full on middle and 136 kmph, steered wide of point, no single taken

65.5
Umar Gul to Dilshan, 1 run, fullish outside off, eased through to deep cover for a single

65.4
Umar Gul to Dilshan, no run, good length on middle, pushed back to Gul who throws it back towards the stumps at the striker's end. Dilshan's in the way and he paddles the throw towards fine leg, was well in the crease while it all happened, no appeals for obstructing the field there

65.3
Umar Gul to Dilshan, 2 runs, slower one bowled slightly short on leg stump, whipped away behind square, Aamer takes a while to cut that off from deep square leg and they get a couple, good running

65.2
Umar Gul to Dilshan, FOUR, banged in short outside off, pulled away powerfully through midwicket for four valuable runs, they are eating into the lead now, Dilshan's done well

65.1
Umar Gul to Dilshan, no run, overpitched, Dilshan smashes it back to the bowler, it deflects off Gul's towards mid-on, was absolutely hammered and was unlucky not to earn a boundary

Gul has unfortunately fallen under the impression that he is a strike bowler when he is nothing without a reversing ball.

Sri Lanka 232/9 (67.0 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 67 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

Why is Dilshan making it look so easy? Really, this is ridiculous. Our tail enders combine to make 0 every time, while these lankans seem like they bat to 11!

Pakistan making a pigs ear of this now and handing the initative to Sri Lanka.

CricInfo:

We have a slight injury. That must have hurt, and the physio is out. Was struck on the eyebrow, and Dilshan's in some pain. He's bleeding, and is being attended to.

I am fed up of these umpires why all the time decesions has to go against Pakistan .I am so frustated ...

dilshan is injured there should be real pace and short stuff targeting Dilshan, shouldn't Aamer be bowling?

Sri Lanka 233/9 (67.6 ov)

Sri Lanka trail by 66 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

Yea and he should be bowling a watta (bent elbow)

Finally! Props to Kaneria and Ajmal for a great performance.

Lead is still very healthy for a low scoring match. But we need to add another 250 runs in the second innings.

Good catch by Kamran, thank GOD he held on to that somehow.

66 runs lead can be handy if ONLY we can avoid a typical collapse.

Danish Kaneria to Dilshan, OUT, edged and gone! Kaneria takes five. Short and wide, goes for the cut, thick edge straight to the keeper

TM Dilshan c †Kamran Akmal b Danish Kaneria 44 (66b 2x4 2x6) SR: 66.66

Exceptional performance by Kaneria! This is more the Kaneria we want to see rather than the one who is happy to give away 100+ runs and get a few wickets

Invaluable lead of 66 - given our collaps-o-bility factor

Thank the Lord. Good resistance from the Lankan tail but 66 is still a very handy lead. About an hour to bat, hopefully we can negotiate that without too much fuss.

Gul has been pathetic this series

10-0-55-1
You know you could go a day without bashing one of our players. Try getting the frustration out some other way.

Oh and the pathetic Gul has 7 wickets at 34.71, that's better than Aamer's return.

So if Gul is pathetic, then what is Aamer?

Well bowled Kaneria .How much comptetion make the difference .He know he is strugling for the his place so he delivered this time .Now common Pakistan get 300 runs on the board and give lankan 350 target and believe me they wont chase that

66 Lead. Pakistan need to get atleast 250 interms of a target which the team can defend!

Hopefully pakistan can get off to a nice solid start tonight!

Gul is a seasoned bowler who is meant to be leading the line

Aamer is a 17 year old newcomer to Test cricket

yet their averages in this series are about the same

indeed closer analysis will show that Aamer has had more chances dropped off his bowling and has taken more top order wickets

be thankful to ALLAH for every single run scored by Pakistan.....u really can't predict any total from then and you should not...just watch and count every single run with thanx to ALLAH

Counting on Fawad Alam to go against the flow and survive the inevitable collapse

If we can get through for the loss of one wicket I'll be delighted

Something very wrong about grown men - middle aged men holding up photos of cricketers...

Have the Sri Lankans asked the umpires to change the ball yet ?

Like Russel Peters said in one of his bits, its completely normal to see two straight men walking down the road holding hands in India. :))

looking at fawad's style..... it looks if he checks the weight of the bat or checks if it is broken or not before playing the shot....

Looks like Zee Cinema will be showing the NZ v Pak series!

Something very wrong about Rameez giving advice to an opener...

That is FOUR! Fine shot by Fawad. He should continue to bat as specialist opener from now on.

I am surprised that umpire didn't change the ball yet.
