I see like 4 people watching the match in the stadium, an unemployed guy, a kid dreaming of becoming an international cricketer, and a guy going through midlife crisis. I guess that's just 3 then.

3 more than you'd see in the UAE :yk

Oh wow, given not out for inside edge? Did not see that coming.... looked like it had snuck past the bat. Would be interesting to see hawk eye cause I am not sure if we would have got the decision anyway though, he was fairly outside crease

I don't think there was, but I guess the two sounds would suggest there was, and was too hard to tell from the replays :mv

He can only give it out if he had a clear evidence to give it out. If he doesn't, he'll stick with the original on field decision. Apart from the bowler no one was convincing and therefore the decision stays.

Why the hell doesn't Tharanga play ODIs like this ? Anyone remember his 0(20) at he 2011 WC Final ? :narine

Yeah, I can see why the decision stayed, still a bit disappointed though

Fair enough I think in the end since I do not think the hawk-eye would have overturned it.... But still, that looked like it beat the bat though. Was probably worth the review.

Unfortunately our fast bowlers are worse among test teams. Its our spinners who won us matches.

Kusal Perera hit 4 centuries(3 not out), a 90 and an 87 vs Pakistan A and doesn't get selected :murali

Everyone is at sleep, so my volume is very low. I think there was a sound, not to sure. Just judging by Misbah and Sarfraz's reaction.

On Pitch and condition which will help seamer and that why we opt bowling. Playing with 3 pacers but Yasir Shah has been given ball in 17th over.

Are we confused?

Sri Lanka is far better team than us and we deserved to loose 3-0 but it's a miracle or fluke we won the 1st test. So we should not complain

Our fast bowlers are rubbish so Misbah has no choice.

I heard once Ian Chappell saying - if you win the toss & put opponents in, unless you get them 4 down by lunch, 80% chances are that you 'll not win the match & a good number of those, you 'll end up losing.

In cricket, I value AUS Captains' comments to the highest order (as they don't come at wholesale rate like PAK) - let's see.

OK. By the way decision based on weakness or under fear may prove worst decision.

Hope for best

like a few people said/implied, we made the correct decision after winning the toss. No offense, but you just seem a negative person in general. If we had batted and we would be 20/3, would you actually fight and claim "At least they showed guts!!!"? Very doubtful. You make a calculated decision based on the odds, and Pak made the correct decision.

Our bowlers have just let us down. Hopefully Yasir can produce some magic (again).

Spot on.

Such an incompetent Test Bowling lineup, How the hell can mediocre Rahat get selected in playing 11, I'll never understand. This man cost Pakistan World Cup by dropping a dolly which could have changed the entire complexion of the game. Mediocre bowler and a terrible fielder, how can he look himself in the mirror?

Okay I guess if Pak dont get 4 wickets by lunch then Pak should just pack up their bags and go home. Ian Chappell and a ******** Bengali fan said so, has to be true.

^^ This!! lol. Well said

Also, just an add on, in neither of the 1st two tests were either team 4 down by lunch. So this "stat" is complete rubbish.

Shameless guy!

If Junaid is playing then "Why is he playing omg, such a bad bowler". He gets benched and then you complain about the guy taking his place. There are no other bowlers so get over it.

It's not his fault if he gets selected. Gibbs basically cost South Africa a World Cup, should he have quit playing? The bowling lineup is incompetent, definitely, but all 3 pacers have probably done a better job than Junaid would have done

Agreed. But I also feel Junaid needs more time in domestic. Maybe he got rushed back too fast?

Junaid might be spending an eternity in domestic if he doesn't get his act together. But yeah, I think he was rushed back too fast, especially for Tests

rahat ali going for nearly 6 in over thats why he isnt suited one day format.

I hope you have the fundamental knowledge of percentiles & English - there are few conditions attached with the logic, therefore the doubt arises. I am not risking to introduce Ian Chappell to someone who don't know him already by now.

Lots of hindsight warriors on the thread.
The bowling combination makes more sense right now. Right arm pacers against the lefties seems to be working better.

Now these SL are looking set for a big score again! Frustrating! Why would u bowl first Misbah?

They havent scored over 350 this series, what are you talking about big score?

And bowling really well after lunch, lots of close calls. Wicket around the corner.

Agreed mate! But my patience ran out as many close calls yet not in our favor! Ha ha!
