look at the averages of sanga and jaya at home.....how they have inflated their averages playing at home

Ah, no hope for SA. Hopefully, we score big as well.

So for those of you who missed the commentary, the Ten Sports team(containing commentators, production workers, cameraman, and statisticians) used to have quiz nights few years back when the were in SL to cover a long series. Commentators, Production team, Camera team and Statisticians team would all team up as per their specific jobs to compete in quiz nights. And Mahela would show up, join one of the team and spoil the party. Once Mahela hit a century few hours earlier batting all day and everyone thought he wouldn't show up. He did however, joined the production team and spoiled the party. Goshh I love Test commentary.

Run-out.Otherwise was set for another triple at his fav ground.SA must be thanking their stars.

I reckon Jaya had his eye on Lara's record if he hadn't got run out

This is ridiculous. Not only big score but so fast as well. Hopefully, SA doesn't crack under score board pressure.

Herath gonna own u lot this time round, its a turner :murali

Well, if Amla and AB can score big then we will be fine but spinners always become more effective when they have lots of runs to play with. We need to knock off last 4 wickets quickly otherwise in no time SL will get to 550. They are scoring too quickly.

If they each score 100s and and some 50s by the weaker batsmen, you'll be alright but Herath is ready for a good innings as its been long for him.

I wonder why of the three SA innings bowled only the first innings it reverse swung a lot.

On the other hand, mighty impressive from Kallis averaging 56.73 on tracks with pace, seam and swing.

You mean tracks where he grew up playing cricket all his life and learnt all cricket skills? Yes, must be very hard

If Sri Lanka win this, they will be steaming that a series win was stolen by the reverse swing from Philanders cheating in game 1.

The elephant in the room is that we all know Australia are the top side in the world, not SA. The cheaters stole the first Test!!!!!

Funny how that violent reverse swing stopped after Philander was busted for cheating in innings 1 game 1.

God, the advertisements on this Willow HD channel are just awful. It's like something out of a different time period.

There is one in which some kind of organised marriage is almost called off due to a misunderstanding of the woman's car breaking down.

Everything that's not from Yorkshire is just terrible.

Just focus on the cricket.

So you're not from yorkshire?

SA most likely are going to play for a draw. I don't see them getting out of this hole to win it unless two players can explode to 100 and Imran Tahir takes a 5-fer to bowl SL out in the 2nd innings.:tahir

This sarcasm? I'm not watching but reading comm :amla

Apart from a couple of balls, he looked very composed today. Herath posed a few questions but # answered them nicely.

Saffers need a big one from him.

They defo do, I can't stand seeing David Warner as the #3 batsman in the world. Amla has scored big on turners so I hope this start- a good score

Pretty much big 100s needed from AB and Amla here, with S.A likely to bat last here they need too make sure they get as close as poss to SL 1st inns, the fact SL scored so quickly in 1st inns as well means game is at an advanced stage.

S.A 98/3 currently.

Went to bed after Mahela got out. Poor Dickwella got run out for 72 on his debut. Maybeeeeeeeeee he could have scored a century. WTH SA batting at strike rate of 1.88

When Roshan Abeysinghe asked Mahela about whether the 2015 World Cup will be his main focus, Mahela replied "There is no gurantee that I will be part of that(SL 50 overs) team".

There is still some hard work left as we need to get AB and Amla out.

Are these teams batting on different pitches?
1.88 an over?
Ok, a pat in the back for not capitulating under the spin examination. But let's get a move on here boys.
Sure we don't need to win this one, we need to get going non the less

I'm beginning to notice a trend here on PP too.
This 2nd match seems to have generated a lot of interest than the 1st one, I wonder why?

Noticed @13/2 this thread was at its peak. Seems to have quite down a bit though.
But hey test cricket is a 5 day "bore" after all.

.

India and England ain't playing. If they were, Pak fans would watch the match to see India lose, Ind fans would watch to support their team and blah blah blah.

SAF not gonna win this match thats for sure only thing they can do is bat and bat and save the match

Simply bat for the whole day and then come and bat again ;)

Easier said than done but that's what is needed.

Against Herath Your best hope is AB and Amla put on a good stand- maybe QDK and JP with 50s and your ok to go.

Janaka: "Going with 3 spinners is the right strategy for Sri Lanka, but I don't think Ajantha Mendis is near test match level now. He just lives on his first series against India."

valid point made. Lanka need to move on and play another spinner.
