What's new

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan | 1st test - Day 3 | Galle | 6/7/09

This 49 run partnership has been 37 runs off the bat, and 12 runs for extras. And that doesn't include the number of bowls we had to rebowl which cost us runs.

usual slow start - now extending to test matches as well.

seems that the idea of "hitting the ground running" means nothing to our chaps

14.6

Younis Khan to Herath, no run, superb stuff, he's a lucky man Herath, much fuller and he tries to cover the inswing by getting a big stride outside off but again he fails to make contact, beaten for the umpteenth time

14.5

Younis Khan to Herath, no run, he's getting it to swing in consistently, landed outside off and zipped in to just go over the stumps, Herath had left an open gate and was fortunate not to have his stumps uprooted

wow what swing by yk...WHO IS THIS MAN....

in all honesty that was probably going down leg...but the appeal earlier to paranavitana was OUT

Finally an LBW upheld by the ump. The nightwatchmen finally goes ... great bowling YK.

16.5

Younis Khan to Herath, OUT, wicket at the brink of lunch! full and swinging into the pads, landed on middle and struck him low in line with leg stump as he tried to push it through midwicket, Harper thought hard about it and raised his finger but we need replays to confirm if that would not have slid down the leg side

oh well the last one was out but umpires didn't give it, i will take this one

Lunch.

I have this bad feeling that we will only pick up 1 or 2 wickets today from now.

Decent session though we gave away a few too many runs. We'll need to get the P guy early, and Sanga

Rain may play a role in this test. I think Pakistan may be lucky to get away with a draw here.

I dont see us chasing anything above 180-200 on this pitch

Oh Aamer you beauty!!! Lovely ball!

Good catch by Kami

SL 86-3!!!

Boys this Amer guy is a gem!
Being 17 and bowling so well, MA
May Allah keep him on the right path and let him serve Pak cricket very well for long long time.

In the ultimate about face of this century - MIG now claims that Pakistan will win this match with a day to spare :31:

If only Gul can get going at the other end we can keep the pressure on

Right back in this match...got knock these guys over for under 225 and the match should be won!

Finally after all the mirror and smokes of wannabe great fast bowler we have seen in last one years we may have finally found real deal here. He is bowling like he is 24 instead of 17.

Just goes to show you have to throw the youngsters in early and see what they are made off. Fawad and jamshed should be in the team now

Gul needs to up his game here.. where are the yorkers?

Gul needs to start pitching the ball up and let it swing.
He is still bowling too short and avoid bowling on the legs

Hopefully Pakistan can rip right through Sri lankas middle order here because batting last wont be easy!

And another peach of a drive - Gul hit for 11 of this over

99-4

Great catch by Kami! Aamer strikes again!

Sangakara GONE!

101-5

OMG this guy just keep delivering the good.

SL is on their Knees, we need the knock out punch now. Hopefully Gul or Wahab will join in
