Younis literally wanted to sit on that ball.

Azhar should just carry on the way he is. Strike at around 50. The batsman around him need to be aggressive.

Love watching YK defend.

i was just going to post this. its such a masterclass in how to play spin. he always has bit of a prod forward to judge the length, then plays infront of his pad. if its flighted at all he comes down the track and defends - all of this under the pressure of close in fielders.

The RR will likely hover at this level until cameos, if any, from Misbah / Shafiq.

Younis is not judging Herath's length 100%. Getting himself yorked every now and then. Or missing out on short stuff by not staying back.

If the rain goes away but clouds linger, Cheema can be lively

Need to up the run rate if we want to declare at tea today, Otherwise the match will certainly heading for a draw, Just three boundaries hit this morning.

younis khan such a good player ...best of pakistan currently......but somehow needs to understand that it is not 20/2 ...it is 400/2.....should be more active now

Looks like at least another hour lost.

Need to get the runrate up and start picking the gaps.

mistake to send in younis khan in my opinion, misbah should have sent in himself. Younis more consistently makes big scores and a better rotator of strike, but misbah is better and getting himself in and then accelerating. He can hit well misbah when he's got in. While younis isn't as good in this regard.

Cricinfo

Kanishkaa Balachandran informs me that the rain has stopped. Lots of puddles on the outfield, so plenty of work ahead for the groundstaff. The covers are now slowing coming off.

Misbah playing fast, I have not seen Misbah playing fast even in ODI. They should have sent Akmal and tell him to hit out

I was hoping they'd send Shafiq in. Everyone knows Misbah shifts between 1st and 6th gear with nothing in between but Shafiq seems to be in form atm and can hit.

It's a good test for Azhar now, a chance to show he has the ability to play accelerate when it counts.

asad would be a better choice too, but I'd prefer Misbah. I'd probably have sent Younis at six.

Also Misbah accelerated very well in one test where he made a century against WI. I agree with ads. Misbah should have sent him self in. I would have taken a 14 off 46 from Misbah then a 14 off 46 from Younis as we all know Misbah can make it up with his big blogs over mid wicket.

1.05pm Kanishkaa says the rain is staying away and Super Soppers are on the field now.

Azhar should take the charge now.He is well settled at the crease.

Don't really need to accelerate too much ... score another 150-200 if possible then declare late today or early tomorow (maybe even lunch tomorow) ... 2.5 days should be enough time to have a decent go at the SL batsmen ... we don't want to bat again.

When will the play resume ?

edit : people are tweeting the game will still take some 20 minutes to resume

but srilankans are already one up and we are behind...4 or 4.5 runs in an over would be nice....but that does not mean blindly.....if there is not a ball to score respect it..........bat just like as 20 to 30 overs in an odi game..
