yes but if you have spread out field you could easily take doubles if your playing the top level cricket, and secondly when he takes the last ball of the over, he usually has the field up, yet he doesn't manage to beat it.

and about the pain, I second what the commies are saying about it hurting more on power shots, I have played with a messed up hand (though not at international level obviously) and when you try to play forceful shots, it hurts more than normal/soft hand shots. it simple physics actually.

Because all they want is a draw and we are required to win. Pakistan would bowl like that if we were in that position. But the partership has a rr of 2 which is very low especially when most of the fielders are guarding the boundary. So your logic either way is flawed.
