Suggest a modern day Pakistan ODI team

I am including Sarfraz and Amir, because I think they are genuine options, and we have no better replacement. I personally think Amir needs a reality check, needs to be dropped and told to pitch the ball up and take wickets. Sarfraz needs to be batting higher up, and also gets in because there are currently no better options for captaincy.

Quite amazing. Leading wicket taker in national LOI tourney for the 3rd time. Averages 18. Is tall, gets bounce, bowls disciplined lines, which would complement Hasan nicely. Instead, on the basis of very little, we dream of Shaheen.

A lot of these teams look and can carry Pakistan forward but what is the likely hood of this happening when PCB is corrupt to the core. The only hope of having a merit based selection is to DE-politicse PCB. That can only happen when you get rid of the mafias that are ruling the country.

The second way to get this done is to have a strong captain like Imran Khan who has big influence on team selection. Unfortunately, we don't have players of his caliber to have that much power in the team selection.

The PSL has had a good amount of influence of getting some youngsters a chance. Shadab, Hassan etc have only been in the team thanks to PSL. Our selectors and PCB probably would have never picked these guys if they hadn't seen them on TV and everyone else praising these guys.

Hypothetically which players would you include in your team?

criteria : you cannot include Sarfaraz, Azhar, hafeez, Malik and Amir.

Before people jump on to me saying why i am dropping sarfaraz and all, i am not. We know these guys cannot be dropped but admittedly they are failing to play the modern game so just need to which better options these players are keeping out. The hardest call was to exclude Amir but he is just proving to be a nothing bowler.

So what are the options :

Sarfraz lacks captaincy ability and consistency with his batting but is a good keeper and scores quickly and knows how to accumulate runs, which is a common beat for many modern batsmen, in fact the best currently (Root, Kane and Kohli) are all great accumulators and hit boundaries late.

Also no idea why Amir, who has bowled pretty well and bowled match winning spells isn't a modern enoug player for you?

My team will include both because that is reality:

5. Malik
6. Shadab
7. Imad (when fit)
8. Nawaz
9. Faheem
10. Hasan
11. Amir

I always think Pak are at their best when they play 2 or more spinners, Nawaz can easily slot in even if Imad is around. If not, can always rotate him out for Raees or the handful of others who are circling the side.

Hafeez should go but Malik should stay on his performances in the last 2 years. If not, then bring in someone like Maqsood. In all honesty, there isn't a lot of batting in the ODI format from Pakistan. I'm surprised someone like Babar has come along.
