Shocking to say the least.....

==

One of the biggest stars in Bollywood, Sushant Singh Rajput, has been found dead in his apartment in Mumbai.

The 34-year-old is believed to have taken his own life, Mumbai police said.

Popular for his acting in both TV and film, Rajput is perhaps best known for MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, where he played the legendary cricketer.

Many have been paying tributes to Rajput, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called him "a bright young actor gone too soon".

Rajput's death comes just days after that of his former manager.

The actor's last film was Chhichhore, which was released last year.

In his last post to his 10.2 million Instagram followers on 3 June, Rajput posted a picture of late mother, who died in 2002, when he was a teenager, according to India's PTI news agency.

He wrote: "Blurred past evaporating from teardrops".

His former manager, Disha Salian, 28, died earlier this week after falling from the 14th floor of a building in Mumbai.

In a Instagram story after her death, Rajput wrote: "It's such devastating news. My deepest condolences to Disha's family and friends. May your soul rest in peace."

His death will be mourned by Bollywood fans across the globe still reeling from the deaths of legendary actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan within days of each other in April.

He was probably facing some health related issues. Not sure though.

Yeah, truly sad. Last few months have been hugely depressing for bollywood.

Shocking. Cant believe this
Sushanth was such a charming persona. Millions of hearts have been broken today. Miss you Man.

Om Shanti

Police though has registered a case of accidental death.

Still remember his silken cover drives in his debut movie, Kai Po Che.

He was absolutely brilliant academically. Secured AIR 7 in AIEEE, got admission in DCE.

He recently did a movie on stress/suicide where his son tried to committ suicide for not getting into IIT when both parents were from IIT.

Still seems so unreal...

Cant forget his "MS dhoni the untold story" trailer.

I remember he started his journey from small screen and then moved to Bollywood. Hardworking actor. Not sure what were the reasons for this. He was from Jaipur, Rajasthan.

RIP bro.

Heart breaking!!!

He achieved everything in his life by his hard work and talent. Didn’t had any Godfather behind him.

News coming out that he was in depression for last 6 months. No matter how much money or fame you have, if you don’t have mental peace, nothing matters.

RIP!!

Absolutely shocking news!! RIP

Hope God gives strength to his family and friends in these troubled times.

Ask his loved ones his left behind life of hell for them now!!

I agree with what you’re saying. But imagine the pain one must be going through to take this step, from where there is no coming back..

All I’m saying is there is no need to bash him, he has already left this world.

Ask his loved ones his left behind life of hell for them now!!

This is what I can never get my head round either, but I guess unless you are tormented like these suicide cases, then it's hard to understand their mindset.

I won't bash him at this hour, however I see where you are coming from. It's devastating experience for the family members. They'll keep on thinking for rest of their lives what drove him to take such a drastic step.

I get where you are coming from , but metal illness is serious man ..I heard he was going through treatment , these guys can’t help themselves ..

Yeah reminds me of Divya Bharti who also left too soon. She was just 19 at that time.

Nothing wakes up the humanity of indians like the demise of a bollywood celebrity.

RIP bro.

I thought he was from Patna, Bihar.

Rip. Was a natural actor.

I’ve not seen any of his movies but always shocking when you hear of someone taking their life.

Let’s hope he’s now resting in peace

He was in MS Dhoni - The Untold Story and was also in the movie PK. I think many Pakistanis used to call him Sarfaraz because of that famous dialogue 'Sarfaraz Dokha Dega'.

Not only a good actor. He was also quite good academically. Got 7th rank (all India) in AIEEE exam and also won Physics Olympiad once.

True. Her 'suicide' was equally perplexing and sad.

World was at her feet when she called it a day.

She was high on drugs & standing too close to the balcony & slipped.. confirmed by her maid who was at the apartment at the time.

True. Depression is a topic that's usually written off in this part of the world. Like it's not a real thing and it's an imaginary thing that was adopted from the western world. Won't get people talking unless it happens to someone really famous like a beloved Bollywood actor.

Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi raji'oon

Very sad sad news

Shocking. Depression is even more dangerous than Covid-19 and has been around for ever. Something needs to be done to help people go through difficult phases of their lives.

The irony is that the solution can be sometimes rather simple. A few words can make a big difference to someones life. For example a nice compliment or a kind and thoughtful message.

Shocking.
This makes so little sense.
He recently made a film on same topic. Whyyyy

Very sad. Method actors can become too immersed in their character to get the best out of it on the screen. I suspect this role may have taken him into dangerous realms within himself.

He was extremely fidgety during interviews and would blink a lot. Sadly seems to have been suffering silently from issues. He also often mentioned that he hardly sleeps. Unfortunate.

Even before the Dhoni film, he looked a proper cricketer in Kai Po Che. Apparently while he was training for the Dhoni film, Sachin saw him in the nets and asked a coach who this guy was because he was that impressive.

Reminds me of Heath Ledger’s death.

Some roles are very dangerous to portray.

Sick and tired of people's reactions.

A guy died along with a lot of secrets with him that we will never know (actually we do not need to know either)

Quit making things up about his mental condition, his relationships and stuff like that out of thin air! There's no suicide note or any issue. Matter is under investigation still.

Quit saying money and fame doesn't but inner peace just because you never made it.

Suddenly half the people on my social media accounts have turned into clinical psychologists. Would you please shut the hell up.

A guy died. Celebrate his life. Show solidarity with his family and loved ones. Help them if you can and if you cannot then your silence about it would help.

I don't know why everyone has to react and feel compelled to pay lame obituaries like anyone really cares about what they have to say.

Reading all sorts of things online i.e. he used to be a loner and people rarely invited him to parties, he was depressed even more after the passing away of his manager, his mother, he was going through financial problems and his career was not going that great.

Nothing makes sense. Bollywood it appears is a very cut throat and unsympathetic place to live and survive in

A rich boy who wanted to dance apparently
His manager disha died just a few days ago

Apparently three actresses have committed suicides during lockdown

Just shows stardom and fandom isn't all

Find it hard to imagine that a star like that would have financial difficulties. He must have minted a lot of money after the few super hits he gave.

There could be so many other factors such as drugs or losing a loved one or may be he was being blackmailed which may have depressed him deeply. Dont know what really happened.

Lots of experts sat on tv channels coming up with conspiracy theories.

Just goes to show, money doesn't always bring happiness.

Very sad to see this. People need to realize that being suicidal is a disease and even genetics to a point. Sad RIP.

This is why the lockdown has got to end. It is going to drive mental health issues up through the roof. My Dad knows a fellow doctor who is running a very thriving medical clinic in Lahore. His mid 20's son was in lockdown in New York for 3 months, working from home, living alone and committed suicide.

Mumbai is quite an expensive city to sustain a lifestyle any decent actor gets used to after afew hits.

Apparently he was paying 4-5 lacs per month rent for his apartment in Bandra. It's nearly USD 6-7k per month. As talented an actor he was, Bollywood never rolled out the red carpet to him in terms of roles in big budget movies by the bigger production houses. So financial aspect of it cannot entirely be ruled out.its possible.

No amount of money, power, fame and success can buy you peace of mind and happiness.

Gone too soon... RIP

The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting lockdown are taking a toll on almost every aspect of contemporary life, including mental health and well-being.

He could have walked out of the lease. People walk away from homes when they can no longer afford it. I wish he had good advisors to talk to him, in the film industry your fortunes always fluctuate ie one good year, one bad year followed by good and bad years, all major film stars have gone through it.

I am disappointed by no condolence message by dhoni of all people as of yet. This is the guy who portrayed you in a film which became a mega blockbuster and he did an amazing job in doing so.

For all the praise Dhoni gets, I have always believed he is a very cold individual. V V S Laxman complained Dhoni never respected him as a senior player and part of the reason why he retired the way he did was due to the lack of support and respect from Dhoni where he wouldn't even return phonecalls

Shocking if true

Academically sound, socially aware and a woke person on current affairs. He was very aware of things and made sure the women around him were protected.

I am sad because he was suffering. Here’s the thing that we all can learn, just because a person is managing their problems from the “outside” it doesn’t mean they are equally managing it from the inside.

Another fine individual talent gone too soon. 2020 has been a extremely challenging year.

We are still speculating the real cause of this incident. It might not be financial at all or it could me. My previous post was just to highlight that despite his talent and critical acclaim as an actor, he actually did not get enough big budget signings to make serious money like Hrithik, Akshay, Khan's etc heck even Arjun Kapoor probably minted more money through his industry connections.

What a sad waste of life.

He was also All India rank 7 in central engineering entrance exam

What do we know? Maybe he is already in touch with their family and is providing actual support rather than superficial social media formality? Don't read too much into the tributes and obituaries. No one really cares till you are alive

Most of the indians only care about masala and gossip. the obituaries are mostly by virtue signalling muppets. Indians don't really care when humans die.
