Sick of hearing people say this, when more often than not there is nothing wrong with them.

Around the world are we becoming a sicknote society?

Are people using the not feeling too well excuse too often?

True, this has become a norm nowadays. Whenever someone is not interested or has to make an excuse, they always come up with a tabiyat nahi theek excuse.

May be they are unconsciously referring more towards depression, mental or psychological problems or just outright stress and dissatisfaction in their personal life, family or financial situation etc?

I don't think folks will have any fun saying "tabeiyat theek nahi". Life in general has gone somewhat more stressful for many people due to Covid and the resulting inflation that is hitting hard.

It is not always a health issue rather family problems are seen as being unwell too. Add to the fact that people have poor diets, worries and finances to deal with. In Covid times we are living in further complicates things. Complaining of poor health has become fashionable when most of the time all is good. Alhumdollilah, I am good and well:moyo2.

I just feel that some folk have this habit of saying they are unwell for attention and to get out of having to do work. Laziness hidden within the excuse of illness.

I used to see this a lot in the MiddleEast but since last year - possibly due to issues with job security brought upon by COVID, sick days have become so rare that sometimes people have to be told to stay home and take a sick day off!

I think this is more mental than physical.

In other words, stressful world can make people like they are not okay (which is often true).

That was the first thing that sprung to mind

Mental health has become a fashion statement. Seems like every second person is suffering from it, a good excuse when life gets tough and they cant be bothered dealing with problems.

Allergies and food intolerances have become a similar fashion statement too.:sarf
