"I feel that the amount of talent Allah has given to Rohit Sharma, he has not given it to Virat Kohli perhaps. I have seen both of them bat, it seems like Rohit is batting in a replay. He has a lot of time. The first time I realised the true meaning of timing because I mostly field at point and I get to know. Virat Kohli has batted in front of me, so has Rohit Sharma but Rohit has been gifted a lot of time by Allah"

Rohit is underrated, he has exquisite stroke play ability which gets overlooked, I also believe he has more flare to his game than Kholi, some of the drives for six over cover are sumptuous; timing the ball on the up and playing low risk drives for big sixes. So yes from this point of view maybe he does have more talent, but still I’d say Kholi is the better batsman and master of run chases when it comes to the Indians.

I personally like Rohit more than Virat as a batsman too but Imam needs to model himself on Virat than Rohit.

Rohit is one of those natural batsman while Virat elevated his game to the next level with hard work, fitness and work ethic and constantly trying to improve his game.

As I have said in other threads I like Imam and think he gets a unfair deal from Pakistan fans but he is more of an industrious cricketer than a natural one so would help him if he follows the template of Virat than Rohit which would suit his style.

He didn’t say who is better, he mentioned who has more talent; there is a difference in being more talented than being better than others.

Many more talented sporting personalities don’t always become the best, but talent wise they can be more talented than those whom reach the top of their respective sports.

Rohit and Kohli shouldn't be compared. People are way too infatuated with stats and will point out averages and who has the more centuries etc.

The truth is both are all time greats and are the best at their game.

Rohit is the best PP utiliser in the world especially in Indian conditions. Their is no batter more explosive and damaging to the opposition then Hitman when he kicks off. We saw that against australia in the world cup, We saw that throughout 2023 wc, we saw that during his iconic 264.

Similarly their is no better chaser and RR utiliser in the game then Kohli, The innings he's played against Pakistan especially when the top order has collapsed and he was asked to chase an almost impossible target is something only kohli could do, Kohli's ability to take the game deep and play perfectly according to the RR makes him the greatest chaser of the game.

If you swapped their roles and asked Kohli to open and just go bang bang and bully the opposition rather then play his natural game, or if you asked Rohit to play at 3 and absorb pressure and soak up RR pressure and chase near impossible totals like kohli did against pakistan then both these guys would have been dropped a long time ago.

Both these legends are best at a certain aspect of the game and are unmatched.

Yes. Kohli's peak was unmatched. Rohit came to light in the last 5-6 years when Kohli's decline started. Kohli is also an impact player but last few years, Rohit has become a top guy.
