BCCI have invested a lot in this WC and the greatest beneficiaries will be Pakistan and Afghanistan, irrespective of what happen in the future.

Not what BCCI intended but Pakistan’s re-emergence and Afghanistan’s continued progression is only good for international cricket.

Nobody has benefited anything from BCCI except for the pocket of some players and management staff.

If anything BCCI is ruining cricket by exceeding teams in their Mickey Mouse league and holding a bigger window in the international calender.

Agreed a lot of franchise cricket is very commercial in nature but the advantage is that major boards like BCCI can fund international tournaments with the revenues earned.

BCCI have spent a lot of money on this tournament in the ME, despite the fact that the event was originally intended to be held in India.

A lot of money has been spend on upgrading the facility in UAE. Which can only be good for international cricket.

Should ICC and BCCI declare this tournament null and void?

Firstly, it isn't fair that IPL had to be rushed to finish in order to fit the world cup in. Surely it was priority to do IPL properly. That should have been done and the world cup can happen post covid in another window.

Secondly, because of covid world cup got shifted to UAE which meant India lost home crowd advantage. You can see there were some Pakistanis in the crowd v India, also Pakistan had big support in their other games which wouldn't have happened if the world cup was in India. You can say the same for other teams e.g. England had a lot of support v Australia. This means other teams are getting an unfair advantage.

Thirdly, it seems toss is very important in UAE conditions and is deciding the match. India has some of the best pitches for cricket in the universe. Should tournament have been in India it would not have bene like this.

So surely only solution is to declare tournament null and void.

well, even though Afghanistan has fallen to Talibans but NZ cricket could still be influenced/bought by BCCI.

IF NZ can quit the tour of Pakistan minutes before the fist game through a mere email from India, then appropriate money and political influence can also make them lose a game against Afghanistan by a HUGE margin.
