You can say that England owed us this trip, you can say that we should stop treating these tours as some sort of festivals etc but the fact is that first Australia and now England have done wonders for Pakistan's future cricketing generations.

So many youngsters will be able to say that we saw Mark Wood bowl at the GSL or watched Moeen Ali, Ben Duckett play at the NSK

This is something we can not underestimate.

So Thank You England - and see you again in December for the Test series

Indeed. The next step is to normalise these tours. I don’t have enough info on the ground, and our local Pakistani posters may be better informed, but I imagine that the security situation is relaxed enough in the main population centres. I hope, on future tours, the visiting lads can actually see the country rather than being under great security (which I imagine is, at this point, a means of the tour happening, rather than a necessity).

Totally concur. Well done England and Australia before them. Hopefully this becomes a norm and we have tours on schedule. I am not a fan of T20 cricket but this series has been entralling

Been a great tour 👍 Hopefully many more to come in the future inshallah

Been an entertaining series played in good spirit. Was obviously unsure about 7 T20s and thought by the 4th or 5th game it would all be a bit tedious but the close series has kept things interesting.

Really can't wait until the test series!

Great to see Moeen lead England and was also a crowd favourite

Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan...

"We are thankful to England for coming here - but hopefully we can beat them. We will try our best. It has been a fantastic series, good preparation for the World Cup."

Someone mankad the last English wicket to win the match and add a bit of spice to proceedings.

Joking

An event like that could unite India and Pakistan lol. Babar is a softie, he would never

"Our team has a wonderful winning percentage in the last 12 months. They have won 80 percent of their matches which is quite impressive"

"These players have redefined themselves during last two years. We can't press a button and start playing aggressive cricket like Australia. I know there are mistakes but this team needs backing,"

It was a very good series.

All the mainstream teams are now coming to Pakistan. Good to see.

Usual rubbish lip service.

Playing aggressive cricket in t20 is a requirement not a nice to have.

It was a good series England definitely deserved to win this series.

They should now look to only provide half of the security provided to teams.

Ramiz Raja in the post match presentation:

"It has been a great privilege to host England. They came here after a gap of 17 years so how could we have not allowed them their trophy? We are not letting them go empty-handed but, honestly, they turned out to be the better side"

"It was a relentless, heart-racing series, except for the last two matches where Pakistan were clearly outplayed. A lot of things to learn for Pakistan but we are sending them with all our best wishes for the World Cup so I want our fans to back this Pakistan team. Once again, thank you to England, it has been an honour and a privilege. We will see you again in the Test series, safe travels"

What was that Ramiz giving trophy to england?

So nice to see a positive thread. Thanks to Pakistan for being fine hosts.

'We knew what it meant to Pakistan for us to be here'

England captain Ben Stokes...

"We knew what cricket means to Pakistan and what it meant to them for us to be here. The support we have had, not only from the Barmy Army, but Pakistan fans has been incredible. The people of Pakistan have cheered the game on and cricket has been celebrated.

"Everyone has enjoyed their time. We came here to win but also to play an exciting brand of cricket. To walk off to a reception we have had after winning over the home team has been special, so thank you to everyone in Pakistan."

This was Pakistan best series of 2022.

Regardless of result, it helped showcase the problems within the team.

Be good for Pakistan to continue playing top teams and getting thrashed rather than the stat padding against the weaker.

England owed Pakistan nothing.

PCB touring England in the pandemic was not because they wanted to do ECB a favor but because PCB knew that if they cancel the tour, it would diminish any chances of ECB touring Pakistan in the near future.

With respect, you are saying two conflicting things in your post.
The tour Pakistan undertook in England, during the pandemic, did indeed engender an expectation of reciprocity.
This was an obligation which England duly fulfilled.
This obligation could, in a way, be deemed a debt, something England owed.

There is nothing to reciprocate & no favor to return when someone helps you because they are looking after their own interests & because they need something from you in return.

So there was no obligation on ECB to help PCB in return. They would be in debt if PCB helped them without trying to get something out of it in return.
