Sarfaraz is a Tiger

None of the current batsmen are even half as brave as him. He deserves a hundred here.
 
I am sure the team management has said to saud to block every ball, he is surely capable of playing at decent rate

Wth is shakeel playing tuk tuk. If he just uppps his scoring a but and sarfraz plays his game we can get close
 
if Sarfaraz get a 100 and pakistan win it will be a slap to the face some pakistan fans in pp
 
If saud gets his thumb out and starts scoring we could chase this down the guy has fc experience playing on homeground why continous to bat at 24 strike rate hit some shots and put pressure on new Zealand bowlers atm all pressure is on sarfraz to score.
 
This could be a famous victory if Sarfaraz manages to take it close. Just needs to keep his wicket while scoring at a decent pace
 
Why can’t Saud just up it a little, at least rotate the strike man

He looked totally dispassionate post his removal. He needed this kick up the backside. Also, till Australia series, Rizwan was performing very well with the bat so there was no place for him and he wasn't churning out runs to justify the recall as a batsman only.

Because he knows if he went out playing an attacking shot the match be done in an hour.
 
Saud has to show some initiative . Cant go into a shell. play a few shots , force NZ to go into defensive mode

Tactical blunder by the management in my opinion. He should have been sent at #3 so that he could play more freely with a perfect mix of attack and defence. You could bank on him to hold one end and with wickets in hand, you could have even gone for around 5+ RPO in the final 15-20 overs.

I still think he doesnt totally justify his place in his side as a pure batsman. And his keeping is very inconsistent. In LOIs it doesnt matter and you can select a keeper whose main strength is batting, but in tests wickets are so valuable that you cant have a keeper who misses you 2-3 chances every match, even if he is scoring at an average of 50.
 
These guys will never learn. The best chance of a draw is to threaten to win.
 
Quite amazing how Waqar doesn't even try to hide his bias during commentary, posing as a cheerleader for Pakistan. Keeps on using 'we' as if he is playing out there.

Yeah but the point I wanted to make was that at least try to hide it and do it subtly. Blatant display of partiality as a commentator is a bit embarrassing to hear.

what logic is this? just brain dead, why they suddenly always switch off like this, beyond pathetic and coward. this approach have never worked even for draw, just insanity, what is there to lose.
 
Why aren't they showing tendency to go for it. Its reaching 4 an over. They rather play positively and reduce the target
 
Even Azhar Ali I think never had such low strike rate after 100 plus balls, he atleast had it around 40, but he had limited shots but this loser saud can play all the shots, still prefer not to, it's all in the mind, 40 ka strike rate se konsi mout par jani?
 
I don't about you guys but I find Test matches in Pakistan a soul destroying viewing experience.

Dull pitches, dull commentary, sparse crowds, and a Pakistan team that looks to avoid defeat than play for victory at all times.

I think the best chance would be to go at around 3 RPO and get it down to 65-70 off the last 10 overs with these two still at the crease. Then they can go from both ends.
 
Saud shakeel if he had player slightly faster and got 25-30 runs more Pakistan would have easily been favs. But thanks to his tuk tuk
 
NZ have got this wrong

They need to attack Sarfaraz and not Saud

let Saud take the single and bowl as much as you can to Sarfaraz. He is the more likely to get out and open the gate for you
 
This is always the time we lose a wicket, near to end of session almost alwys, so just see it unfolding.
 
We seem to have completely shut up shop with no intention to score any runs at the moment
 
Need to bring in Hasan Ali. A good 30 to 40 runs cameo can close the game :D
 
So either their playing for a draw coz they dnt think Pakistan have the firepower to win. Or they're gna go for it after tea. Either way easting overs and making it hard for yourself to win. Tuk tuk wont get them anywhere
 
Saud is trying to do the right thing i dnt think its chasable..saffy is no doubt playing well but can get out

Saud is such a kitten against pace bowling. No self belief. He will be a sitting duck in SENA.
 
Saud needs to stay in case of safety needed at the end but Sarfraz can play his shots
 
I think the right thing to do would be for Saud to play a few shots, but the pressure back on NZ and make them wobble a bit.
 
Saud has even bored Sarfaraz off; he was looking towards players balcony while Mitchell was about to deliver.

Think we took the tuk tuk a bit too far in that session. Another 15-20 runs were needed.
 
Nice sensible batting from Saud. No way they’re going to chase this down. Last recognised batting pair at the crease. We know what Hasan and co. are capable of

Only draw and nz victory possible from here. We may get another 27 28 overs before the light fades.
Daryl mitchel is way too difficult to score of.
 
Saud shakeel has killed every hope of winning and all the efforts of Sarfraz to chase down this target..

I see only 2 possible results with the way Shakeel is approaching (defeatist mentality) did the same against England and lost the match which was very close.. Same will happen today after Tea...

Once Sarfraz falls , the rest of the team go one by one easily for NZ to wrap this test win and the series

Not for moment looked scared in either inning just batting dead on the teams plan. Also has good range of shots, more than Azhar Ali atleast.
 
Shakeel stopped the bleeding but totally sapped the initiative. It cant be an either-or. You have to be able to hold down the fort and score at a decent clip. If this was England, the target would have been 450 and another session to bat through.

Yeah going by how last test finished, more like 28 overs max. If NZ are closer to victory with 7-8 wickets down then they will try to bowl the minimum number of overs remaining.
 
Pakistan would already had lost the match had Saud not batted the way he did, no way Pakistan had any chance winning. Nz could easily bowl negative kines and bowl minimum overs possible by sklowing down.

Exactly. Who are these directives coming from. Saud will be the difference between a loss and win. We're not getting a draw because as soon as sarfaraz fall, we're gonna fall like a pack of cards.

All he needed to do is rotate strike!
How hard is that?

Absolutely...wont have much faith in Agha in pressure situation and the tail ...well the less said the better.
