The 2nd Test between Pakistan (408 & 304/9) & NZ (449 & 277/5d) ends in a draw - Series drawn 0-0

I don’t care about the draw, I don’t think we can survive out the overs. We must attack and hope for the best.
 
Agha a bit more fluent, Paks chances have diminished though. One more wicket and we're up against it.
 
They need to block simple ..it was a nothing shot their spinners will destroy our tail

One more wicket and Pakistan should probably shut up shop.
 
He’s played some clutch innings with the tail recently, to be fair it’s even hard to get an assessment of him because his innings have been almost entirely batting with the collapsing tail [MENTION=132954]Aman[/MENTION]
 
No way Pakistan winning this . The Sharjah game we had wickets in hand
 
Still 1hour 20 mins to go. No chance of rain , light is good too. Third series loss at home looks 100 percent at the moment.
 
Sarfraz in a dilemma, either play his natural game and risk getting Pakistan into a hole or pull back.
 
I feel that it would not have been the worst idea to send Hasan Ali to try to smack a few. We need just 2-3 big overs to get the run rate a little bit down.

You are being bit too pessimistic. Sarfraz can rescue still. Agha is pretty good too.
 
If Pakistan shut down shop, it will make it easier for our bowlers to bowl at Pakistan.

Ish could be lethal with fielders around the bat.
 
This is weird for Pakistan.

Sarfraz scores runs on these slow and low pitches, but feel he would struggle outside the SC.

Seems to feast on these slowish pitches, but will strugge on tracks that seam and have pace and bounce.

Rizwan in the long run seems the better bet.
 
The hopeless defensive skills of tailenders mean that NZ really are 1 wicket away.
Pakistan can only get away if these two bat for next 15 overs at-least. Even then they can remove the rest in 4-5 overs.

Unfortunately I don’t think Pakistan subscribes to the different horses for different courses way of thinking.

I think someone posted it recently but Rizwan has been much poorer in Asia but better overseas. I wouldn’t mind Sarfaraz playing as a specialist batsmen though. We just don’t have very many good players of spin like we used to.
 
Shan masood and babar azam threw their wickets away , it was very doable.
Shan gets beaten once and goes for a glory shot.

Please Hasan Ali is the worst tail ender ever, cannot last 3 balls and would had added unnecessary pressure on Pakistan team. I mean they will lose anyway but he would had accelerated that.

Yeah, makes sense to have in the team on these tracks. His technique and awkward batting just looks like it would be worked over on pacier tracks or tracks which offer seamers something.

I think you’re right. But we could’ve shutdown shop if he failed. Right now we are in a kind of awkward stage between going for it and settling for trying to survive and get the draw.

Totally agreed. His terrible hacks have cost Pakistan even a test match. Absolutely pathetic defence and temperament.
 
If we don't get another wicket before 50 it's game over.

Less pressure for the rest to finish it.
 
Abrar should be sent in before both Naseem and Hasan who played horrible slogs in the first innings to get out.
 
I don't think Southee will last long as captain. 319 was a bad declaration.

Latham will probably be captain by the end of the year.

Abrar is the best tailender from the current team if he is allowed to play his shots.
 
Got a feeling Sarfraz will go out soon after his 100, its a Pakistani thing our players do not last long after their milestones.

Great innings. Sarfaraz's batting has been flawless this series, the most fluent batsman from either side.
 
Southee needs to rest his pacers for the second new ball?

If only we had picked him for the England series and the WT20, the results would have been very different.
 
If Sarfaraz can take Pakistan home then it might eclipse YK and Abdullah's 4th innings efforts at Pallekele and Galle respectively, considering all what's gone on in the past month and a half. Atleast would be as significant in my eyes as Younis' innings.
 
Sarfaraz selection for this series was totally left of center. But how he has shone.

Don’t think anyone saw it coming.
