What's new

The 2nd Test between Pakistan (408 & 304/9) & NZ (449 & 277/5d) ends in a draw - Series drawn 0-0

Reminds me of the pitch vs SA in the 2007 tour of Pakistan - the balls were scooting low on a number of occasions. Only Younis got the measure of that 5th pitch; he was getting forward all the time and played literally everything on front foot.

Yeah, that's why in the last test, he scored 90 odd on the 5th day on a pitch that had worse rough patch than this one. Must have scored 90 off 50 balls because he doesn't have the defence, right?

You are amazingly ignorant/silly with some of your posts.

The ball didn't turn like this, only reason he survived previous over was bounce. One more ball there and he would have been walking back. At least this way he could have tried to hit out biggest weapon off his line and lengths and help his team in the process. It didn't work out, but it's better than sitting around to be knocked over when it's clear you don't have the ability to survive.

It's not a flat pitch today.....there's enough for the bowlers.

Some balls hardly bouncing and big turn for the leggie Sodhi.

Chasing 320 here will be a stiff task, specially for a fragile lineup like Pakistan's

NZ need to plan this very carefully if they are to have a chance. Only target Babar with pace and when pave goes off, target the other guy with spin. Problem will be I Saud and and Bobby come together . Because Saud is another batsman who definitely prefers playing spin over pace.

Laughable stuff. If Imam got so unsettled by the previous Sodhi delivery that it forced him to commit harra kirri later than it tells you that he doesn't have what it takes to survive at this level.

Babar vs leggie , leggie always has a chance. Especially flippers.

NZ Spinners looking way more threatening in comparison to the Pakistani spinners. Pakistan really has to review their spin bowling dept after this series is over.

Head coach is a legendary spinner.

Spin bowling stocks are at an all-time low, there's no one even in FC

You are just twisting facts in order to make your point. The ball was spinning as much, if not more. Imam made 96 off 206 balls. He made it possible by mixing attack with solid defence.

At the very least, the last pitch was as tough as this one and on visual evidence had more pronounced rough patch. The deliveries which got Imam stumped as well as got Babar LBW, Sodhi had actually delivered them as leg breaks but they actually turned the other way like googlies; that was something unbelievable really and was only possible because of the rough.
So your point that he doesn't have ability to survive is totally incorrect as he had showed just in the last match that he could do it. It's just that he chose the wrong shot to hit.

3.5 RRR for 73 overs in two and half sessions. The top batter on home pitch.

GAME ON!!!!!

:sa

He’s just a fantastic batsman. NZ supporters will thank Imam for running him out in first innings

Poor ball and dispatched by Babar, but a certain poster will say that he is an idiot for going for it and putting a bad ball away.

Henry bowls attacking lengths so he might go for a few boundaries but I think he can pick up a wicket here as well as Babar might get sucked into a fatal drive.

All the luck goes against Babar for some reason.

These things even out in a long career. Remember he was dropped in the first test and went on to make 161.
Also dropped multiple times in his 196 against Aussies.

Hence proved Babar Azam cant deliver in pressure situation. He is only good for 1st innings when there is no pressure. This was best chance for him to prove haters wrong, but he bottles it when team needed the most.

Babar has weakness against incoming deliveries , whether googlies or by seamers. He doesnt have a good sweep shot which limits his chances against good spinners.

Babar Azam! When will you stand up and deliver in a crunch situation! Pathetic and soft!

Yes but I am mostly referring to recent times - the going has been tough for him from all corners and then he has a couple of run-outs and strangle down the leg side. Could not have come at a worse time these dismissals.

Babar has to be the least deserving "King" in cricket.

Viv and Kohli at least earnt that name.

Babar is not even world class in Tests and a hindrance in T20s.

And yeah, Babar is not world class in Tests.

Hope people realize this. Scoring soft runs doesn't make you world class.

Babar cant even play in flat deck . Where bracewell and bundell scored . What a sad state of pakistan.

This series has been poor for Babar.
Daryl Mitchell dropped his dolly catch when he made 161.

I cringe when people call him King.

I cringe for Kohli and Lebron too but at least they have the performances for their stans to say it.

Babar seems like a Kohli parody from Babar stans.

Only fans like mobasir call him king . As he is king of soft runs.

Forget that, how can you be considered world class and be hyped up as Babar is when you score when it's easy?

I would take Pant and Watling over Babar despite not getting as much hype or being in that top star batsmen mould. They score when their team needs it most.

Yeah I agree with you that, he is following the same route as Williamson. He still has a few years to by-pass that route and play few impactful knocks.

Saud has been our best batter this series. Why is he not coming in before Sarfaraz?

Williamson in recent years has been average and probably isn't world class anymore. But at least he's scored some important runs for us when it matters most.

I expected more of a fight from Pakistan.

Falling over like a deck of cards.

WL365 stats supporting shan will go out of the window. He just played an immature shot at a critical juncture.

This should be Babars final match as captain. The PCB needs to order him to step down after the game.

Hoping for a Babar miracle today but stats don't support it

I believe this is quite a normal stat or most batters.
Younis khan was the exception.
Innings 1 and 2 will be highest and innings 4 the lowest

Shan should have used sweep shots that he usually plays well enough. You cant just have just one attacking option to counter spinners' lengths. Yes it is tough with the rough playing sweep shots but you got to have more shots up your arsenal to keep the spinners second guessing as well.

The spinners know that both Imam and Shan only know one way to attack and that is to come down the track, they can see it coming and hence alter the lengths to catch them out of position.

This home series we have been unfortunate with strangles down the leg side at critical junctures in games.
Imam Azhar Nawaz Saud Babar.
5 big wickets in 5 games.
We were just getting into a position of strength on all occasions.

This is not a road. Both bowlers/bat get reward for their deliveries/shots.

Babar should resign from captaincy!

Shan should be dropped.

Pak are officially a test minnow!

Babar should resign but who will captain the team?
Sarfrazs keeping may not keep him in.the team for long.

Imam may be?

Shakeel likes to bat , doesnt mean he likes to score runs. These karachi boys should try to play next 50 overs.

Is Ish Sodhi unwell? Ideally , it should be Ish and anyone but Ajaz and Bracewell bowling to these two. Even Daryll Mitchell will be fine.

Going close to the way I expected so far — although I thought it would be 4 wickets down and Imam still there. So it’s actually a bit worse than I expected from Pakistan.

Those 2 quick dismissals last night were psychologically massive and huge in the context of the game as I envisaged.

5 wickets in 64 overs on the last day of a Test match (when the odd ball is doing a bit) is routine. New Zealand will win this one now.
