The 2nd Test between Pakistan (408 & 304/9) & NZ (449 & 277/5d) ends in a draw - Series drawn 0-0

Shakeel needs to bat up , he is not a number 6. He likes to take his time , number 3 or 4. Ideally number 3.

It takes years and years of practicing the sweep shot, reverse sweeps to master them and plenty of successful execution in match situations.

Sarfaraz in an interview stated he had been playing the sweep shot since childhood which is why the shot is second nature to him now and he rarely messes it up.

Variable bounce on the last day is not uncommon in Test cricket, it’s one of the reasons why 4th innings chases are so difficult to complete.

One victory in a meaningless T20 with baba getting 40(50) rauf getting 2 wckts Pak will be world class again.. these humiliating losses will be forgotten!!

Its doable. They shouldn't be getting out to spinners the way they have. It's not India kind of sharp spin you see in India on day 5.
 
Sarfraz is a great player of spin. One of the best strike rates against spin in the game.
 
Pakistan can still chase this with these two around.

Problem is lack of wickets, feel like 2 wickets away from there being only two results possible.

The issue isn’t with the deliveries which are getting the batters out. It’s with the occasional ball that doesn't even need to get a wicket spinning square or (far worse) keeping low. This puts sufficient doubt in the minds of the batters which will eventually force a mistake. That’s what we have seen so far.
 
Saud has taken 6th wicket guard and is happy to block anything from Ajaz outside off stump. Ajaz has no clue how to attack his stumps.
 
Sarfraz's is a lone lion who fight for Pakistan. All other batters are cowards!
 
Sarfraz has been totally class this whole series. He deserves a Tier A contract.

This is exactly what Imam should have done. He for some reason doesn't get across the off stump enough against the left arm/leg-spinner. That's why he is always worried about playing forward to them.
 
All up to the home boys . If Sarfraz can pull this off, he'll be around for a while

These mistakes are common amongst SENA batters but shouldn't happen with subcontinent batters.
 
Sarfaraz is a fighter. No one in the current team values Pakistan Team more than him. Always gives his best. He is even less talented than Mushifqur Rahim but got a heart of a Champion.
 
Problem with Sarfraz is he's good on these slow pitches but I can see him being ordinary overseas.
 
If sarfaraz is your best player… you must be a pathetically poor team. There’s better wicketkeeper batsmen in at least 5 associate teams..

Sarfaraz will not play as a batsman so Rizwan can play as a keeper.

Where was this idea to play him just as a batsman when he was shafted out of the team 3 years ago?

He is one of the reasons Pakistan is in the mess it is. His batting has been really good but he has dropped very crucial catches. Catches that changed the tide of both matches. His missed stumping of Kane helped them add at least 150-200 runs and his miss of Blundell yesterday was again a decisive one. Had those catches been taken Pakistan might not have been in the precarious position it is in and wouldn't have needed Sarfaraz to act as a savior. I am not against him being in the team but certainly against him playing as a specialist keeper. We tend to criticize bowlers and batsmen for their failures but keeping failures are equally damaging. Missing 3 chances in a game is unforgivable.
 
To get Saud out, you need to bowl away from him the way Southee is bowling now
 
Haven't seen a more pathetic Pakistan cricket test team than this (having watching them for over 30 years).
If Babar has any shame left he should step down however I don't see that helping either.
 
Very easy to plan against pakistan batting as a captain. If nothing works ,bowl short and there will certainly be a wicket.

I mean he does get across but not that much. Also, he, for some reason is always worried about the inside edge dismissal to short leg. That tells me that he doesn't believe he can get to the pitch with his front foot press - similar to how Pujara's doubts against off-spin. I think he should take a leaf out of Pujara's book and come down to pad away/defend the balls. He doesn't even have to look that far, can learn from his own teammate Saud about how to defend incoming balls confidently. Saud is very rarely caught on the crease; he is either fully back or fully forward to get to the pitch and smother the spin.

I dont mind us losing , this is not a very experienced team and we do not have enough A tours to test our players performing in domestic.

Sarfraz khan , the indian batter scored a lot of runs in domestic and now he is playing A games agaisnt bangladesh A. PCB need to arrange A tours.

Our domestic od tournament was played on a ground which is small and the wicket was gray in color. How can you take a tournament played on a single small ground seriously? Why wasnt the tournament played on different ground , i think everywhere else the players are tested on different pitches and then evaluated.
 
Improve the pitches in domestic competitions and we will see better bowlers and batsmen coming up , with the current pitches we will not produce good cricketers.
 
Babar is one of over rated batsman I have seen. Even Kamran or Umar Akmal had better talent than this guy. Had Umar and Kamran used their brain they would have better career.

A keepers first job is to keep well ,if he cant then he has no place in the side as a keeper. Cant drop catches and miss stumpings every innings.

Sarfraz can either playas a batsman or not play at all , this option will soon be given to him.
 
Hopefully this is the last day Babar Azam captains a cricket match for Pakistan. We have a poor set of players but that doesn't mean a captain should avoid accountability ! Enough is enough.
 
Had rizwan be playing this match would have been over. With sarfaraz atleast we have some hope

Has not lost us any tests because of hiss keeping.

In last test alone nz score 200 more because of sarfrazs gloves behind the stumps. A good keeper is a neccessity , otherwise pakistan can just have a batsman keeping. No need to have a specialist keeper.
 
You just cant have bowlers hardwork going to drain on a wicket where wickets are hard to come by only because the keeper misses chances and drops catches.

Shakeel is batting at a sub 20 SR. This is not a winning strategy.

Man this Saud Shakeel might be scoring runs, but I cannot believe I would ever see a more boring batsman than Azhar Ali.

He has absolutely no intention of scoring runs and watching this is just torture.
 
Sarfraraz trying to win the game for Pakistan, saud trying his best to play for a draw and put more pressure on Sarfaraz to do it all himself.

If saud scored at a decent rate we would probably 130 now instead of 170.
 
Looks like Sarfaraz and Shakeel will hit hundreds and give Pakistan a dominant 5 wicket win :yk

Catches gets droppped by keepers all the time live with it and appreciate his batting efforts this series. Latham atleast dropped one already. Yes he is now not good enough as a keeper so perhaps should be played as a batsman against subcontinent teams
