The 2nd Test between Pakistan (408 & 304/9) & NZ (449 & 277/5d) ends in a draw - Series drawn 0-0

What is saffy doing...this is v risky one wicket here and kiwis will be all over us
 
I just don't think Pakistan can win. A NZ win is almost certain. One of them will get out somehow and then it will be over very quickly.

Expected when you declare for 300 on a road with occasional uneven bounce and a rough patch.

In hindsight should have played for the draw and padded batsmens stats.
 
77 to get in 17 overs . These two need to stay for 30 more minimum
 
Have to say the tactics have been poor from NZ. They should still attack and keep the fielders up. Sarfaraz/Agha will easily sky one up/play a false shot with the fielders up.
 
At some point Kiwis will look to chicken out like they did a year ago and ran away
 
Finally victory for Pakistan. Sarfaraz may not be a skilled batsman but he sure knows how to squeeze the maximum out of his limited capabilities. And he has a good street smart brain. Kinda like Dhoni.

Mate you've been outplayed most of this series and are going to steal a test series win because our idiot captain tried to build his own reputation early on in his reign and try get a result on a flat pitch like England.

As I said earlier as soon as NZ see Pakistan have a remote chance they will start bowling negative lines, they can evwn be bowling more slowly to waste time.

Going for the win is fine. Why didn't bracewell accelerate if they had declaration in mind?
 
Go for it ! Don't just meekly settle for the draw unless you've no choice.

Need to slow it up and get the physios out there. Try get light into the game.
 
If they are still there in 8 overs time then NZ will just slow the game down even more and the bad light would finish the game.

RRR is nothing.

Wicket is the only way this game is going to change.

Unless light becomes a factor.

Yeah, Southee turns out to be as stupid as babar. But viewers shouldn't complain. Some entertainment in a boring series again on day 5.
 
Problem Pakistan have is tail coming . If they had couple of batter in hand it would be walk in park
 
At this point this pair of batsmen are fighting against the light. Need to score fast here.

We played it stupid.

Showed little acceleration, should have gotten to a lead of 340-350 and really make it difficult for Pakistan.

320 is not a total that is daunting and you know Pakistan are capable of a 150 run partnership to make it easy.
 
Saud's inning was pathetic to say the least. It ruined our chances of winning the series.

Pakistan need to get a move on, light can hold till max 5 30 pm, so just 40 more minutes play and max 10 overs, even lesser maybe, considering NZ will do their best to waste time. So Pak of really want that win, need to really go for it with minimum 7 runs per over.
 
is pakistan gonna go for the win or trying to draw it?

Have no choice to play like this when you set a total of 319 on a flat pitch.
 
Take reviews on the very last second.

Go for the lbws since they'll review if it hit the bat.
 
If NZ wanted to stop runs, Daryl Mitchell was better option. Southee is a darpok captain though.
 
4 years ago, Sarfraz was captain when Pakistan botched a chase of 170-odd in Abu Dhabi against NZ.

Winning here would feel like redemption.
 
That's more like it, no second guessing now plz, just win or lose, And luck most often than not favors brave.

Safer shot is just chip over mid-on using the pace, instead of slogging over mid-wicket.

just speculating if the WTC finals of 2021 were played in anything but swingging Eng- Nz conditions....just speculating..NZ have been awful ever since in tests, even BD beat them ....in their own home
