What's new

The 3rd Test between Australia and India ends in a draw with India on 334/5

I think Pant is the Indian Umar Akmal.

Great nuggety attaching batsman, but can’t catch and has no brains.

This time I’ll agree with you - completely. Resemblance of Umar Akmal & Rishab Pant actually perfectly explains the gap between PAK & India in cricket.

That was dumb from pant
Pujara should have told him to calm down
No need to go for a boundary when u already hit 4 in the previous over

He made 97 because of the way he played. Many shots went for 4 that just evaded the fielder. Can't suddenly say "he shouldn't have played like that" for the one ball that got him out.

Pant should have calmed down a bit. 45 wicketless mins. with the new ball would have had aussies picnicking. Now its a different game with a new batsman

Only if PCB can learn how to build a star making system like India. They have to make sure Babar Azam goes on to become a great player, then an idol culture will build again, to inspire kids for future thats how India have so many grt batting talent Sachin was a great great influence.

Pant tbh has done better than most current Indian batsmen outside Asia..

2 wickets were gifted - Rohit and Pant.

Pant plays like that - if he played cautiously, he would have failed. Viv Richards had a 65/80 stats in 1970s, when 50/50 was considered ATG class. So, when he was asked that had he been more cautious, could he been a better batsman? Viv answered that - never, in that way I would have lost lots of scoring opportunities and would have got out to wrong shots more often than not.

Wow...great knock by Pant.

Brilliant performance by India, they can still win it with Pujara looking great.

Great chance for Vihari to nail his spot in the team.

This Hanuma Vihari is the Kedar Jhadav of Test cricket. A good for nothing, worthless, imbecile.

Agree with you totally. Pant should never be asked to change his natural flair by coach or management. Do you think he can give the Sehwag effect as test opener?

if Jaddu is padded up, we are not thinking of shutting shop. Go for it boys C'mon

This game would have gotten interesting if Kohli was in middle scoring runs with a similar score. India is likely to lose from here given Jadeja is injured and they have a weak tail.

Cracking series this has been. 3 back to back fantastic tests.

If this partnership can add 50 Run more then surely Australia will facing some pressure

I've been gunning for this guy for a while now and even came up with the :shezzy2 suggestion that he be the first man to be dropped in the middle of a test match.

But can't help feeling sorry for him now. Coming in on the back of THAT Pant knock, imagine what a loser he must feel like.

I wouldn't blame him anymore. It's the guys who kept picking him ahead of Rahul (who's now injured). You might as well have tried Shaw in the middleorder since his opening prospects are all but done.

Vihari like every cricketer has the right to aspire to play for his country. It's up to the selectors to keep that a dream or turn it into reality.

He's anyway done once Kohli returns. Might as well try his best to be a supporting act to Pujara and earn that grand pension that anyone who plays even one test for India earns :rabada2

Jadeja will be bat if they can add 50-60 runs more

Aussies did a great job by keeping the game open - if India bats out 138 overs, they’ll win this Test. Aussies could have changed that equation to 450 in 125 overs, forcing India to go into shell. This is where longer durations of Test match makes it interesting.

M Vijay was pretty decent in recent times

Yeah showed glimpses here and there but too meek.

Dinesh in England 2007 was good

Even among players Washington and Ash are the only ones with confidence..

Nattu is too old to matter..

According to punter prediction india was all out under 200.

Keeping it open will most likely result in Aus winning it. Jadeja can't really bat with broken fingers. Lots of overs and runs left. The tail is useless. One option could be Pujara taking most strikes and batting till the end to get a draw.

Anyway, fantastic 3 tests in this series. I would have liked to see full team from both sides playing in Aus. In India game won't be similar competitive.

He average 57 in FC so there must be some base. For the first few times I saw him I thought he’s an all rounder lol just by the way he batted and his demeanor when in the middle.

I think australia could have gor 40 - 50 more and that would have forced india to shut shop and would have allowed more attacking fields.
For a large part they didnt even have a second slip.
Dead batting with fielders close in would play in aussie hands.

Who are the other folks whom do you think lacked in confidence? I don’t know much about Andhra cricket but TN cricket is dominated by upper class Tamil Brahmins who might not be as tough as rural Tamilians.
If you follow Pro-Kabaddi, you would see the difference. Most Tamil players who play in that are tough rural folks and they carry that confidence.
