Ashwin's batting technique is pathetic now.

He can't make late adjustments with this.

Doesn't have enough time.

Needs luck to survive.

TN has better system than most states in India, even if its Chennai based- Delhi is just one city lol.

Your whole point of argument is that TN players don’t do well outside India and I am saying that is the same for players from other states too. Otherwise, we wouldn’t this poor in SENA.
Sehwag has centuries in SENA but you have to look at his average to see his real performance. Its an undisputed fact that he was an FTB and once other teams found that out, they got him for cheap in SENA.
And I am talking about most of players from Delhi and Mumbai who has poorer batting and bowling averages outside India. Thats the reason we always struggled outside India. You have to remember we even used to lose tests in Pakistan and SriLanka regularly whose conditions were not that different from us.

The percentage of Tamil brahmins in Tamil society is very minuscule. But if they dominate most of Tamil cricket team, then that definitely means they have a problem.
I am from Kerala and I can say the same about our cricket team. We dominate in non-cricket sports in India like Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics, Swimming etc but always been poor in cricket. One reason for that was cricket was an elite game and hence attracted mostly upper class city folks who were different physically and mentally from tough rural mallus who played non-cricket games. That has changed recently as Kerala Cricket association has branched out to rural areas and our cricket team has started to punch above its weight in FC. So TN association might need to do the same.

More than T20, I think its his chronic Tennis Elbow issue which messed with his batting.

Remember reading in an article that he had to make some adjustments to his technique due to the tennis elbow.

He has been trying to hit 6s.

Wv Raman told him to let it go years back.

He isn't even playing that many bowls compared to Ash
So even in draw situation he isn't doing a good job

What? Plenty of overs for Aus to take 1 wicket and the rest will come very quickly. Right now Ashwin is taking more strikes despite being a bowler so it's a matter of time.

Also isn’t he 34 years old? Most regular batsman become poor in their reflexes at that age let alone a bowler like Ashwin.
 
Whatever the result came but I'm satisfied Indian team effort in this inning .now Australia bowlers bowl more than 100 over so there will be effect in next test .

Yea but his decline started 2-3 years ago itself. And most batsmen are at their peak around that age.

This is a dead wicket. No excuse to fail to bat for a draw here

It's a coping mechanism for many of my countrymen. They'll pretend that batting out to save a test match is the easiest thing in the world, so that if it does happen there's no regret. I have done it many times myself.

He's more of a strong view snap judgement tyes.

And yes the comparisons with Pakistan don't make sense given that India is a top 3 team and Pakistan is a bottom 3 team. Why can't a top 3 team be held to a higher standard?
 
I have a large wad of cash riding on an Aussie victory here...however if the Indians do achieve a draw (which I thought was impossible last evening) then my bet is voided. Won't mind it at all to be honest - 1 all at Gabba would be brilliant!

My mistake, ironically it was I who made a snap judgment reading your post. You are absolutely right that India should be held to a much higher standard than Pakistan.
 
Does Vihari have shots? Like when he can play freely? Or is he a limited batsman

Yes its too slow. Not an ideal test match pitch it hasnt offered anything to the bowlers on day 5. I dont think i have seen a pitch as slow as this ever in australia.
Called it in 2nd session yesterday India can survive

Ajit Agarkar and Murali Karthik most of the times. I thought Karthik was bad, but Agarkar takes it to the next level.

That's why despite this fight, they are not safe even if they have to bat 5 overs. I think Aus has a great chance here. Just need one wicket.
