What's new

The 3rd Test between Australia and India ends in a draw with India on 334/5

Yes its too slow. Not an ideal test match pitch it hasnt offered anything to the bowlers on day 5. I dont think i have seen a pitch as slow as this ever in australia.
Called it in 2nd session yesterday India can survive

Sadly Pakistan was in a similar situation in the first NZ test with Fawad and Rizwan well set, a dead wicket but when the draw became a real possibility, the team succumbed to the pressure of the sudden expectations. But that is why our team is ranked in the bottom 3. If India's top 3 rankings are indeed accurate for which there is no doubt, then they should be able to draw this comfortably given how dead this wicket is

Don’t know who to support. This is tense.

Indian Broadcasters are back to showing 5 ball overs. 1st ball invariably is gobbled up by Amitabh Bachan

Lol who’s the kid shouting Va-HA-RI

India despite missing key players are fighting out , and people compare their team with Pakistan , Sri Lanka !! India is far ahead of them.

Australian pacers haven't challenged the stumps enough, too much unnecessary short stuff. Shocked that Starc with his pace didn't even try the in swinging yorker

I have through out said , India would be tough nut to crack for Aussies.

India full strength yeah but wth is this team?

They are fighting hard yeah but this is easy nut to crack for Aussies and we have one passenger as well namely Vihari..

We are not laughing at you bhai...

Just that this is a huge task if we draw it.. It wud likely be our greatest draw in our history.

Still a Longggg way to go

India may loose the match , but they played brave cricket , that is what we all want to see , absorbing cricket till last session . To be honest India is only team from Asia that can beat Australia , SA and kiwis in their own backyard .

Vihari has done pretty well here, tbh.

Well if he is selected in the team , he will be played , and given proper chance , so far he has done what is required of him , he has blocked nearly 100 balls !

Aussie bowling is toothless in this inning. A rookie part time leggie given the ball when there's only a few overs to go. Easy period for India.

Nah, some time part-timers can do 2 overs and pick up wickets out of nowhere. Aus just needs one wicket here.

We want us to draw with yeh series on line.

They have done enough to win kudos.

It's about results now.

Australians imo were too negative in this test match, in both innings they batted at a very low run rate compared to their usual batting style which is credit to the quality of the Indian bowlers, fielders and the mental block they have created in the minds of the scard Australian batsmen but still one would have expected an Australian team playing at home to be able to withstand the past demons and come out playing brave fearless cricket

They should have batted at a faster strike rate in the second innings and set India a target of 450-500 and given themselves two days to bowl at them

Anyone tell me there is time limit where game has to be stopped or they will Bowl 20 over anyhow?

If India manage to draw this one out, I'd love to see Australia's documentary on this on Amazon Prime lol.

Man, if someone yelled out my name like that while I was batting, I would melt on the pitch.

They will bowl full over unless both captains agree to call it off. Aus should not call it off even if one over is left.

A bouncer becomes effective when you bowl 3-4 full deliveries before it atleast and use it as a surprise

A yorker or a full delivery becomes effective when you bowl 3-4 bouncers, short deliveries before it atleast and then use it as a surprise

Bowling 5 consecutive bouncers and then to throw one delivery outside offstump creates no pressure or stress especially on a flat wicket

Australia did bat very slowly in some parts of the match. For example during a comfortable position in the second innings, Steven Smith was batting at around 37 in 140 odd balls. That's too slow when you are setting a target and are in dominant position.

How did the indian team get so much injuries? It seems insane, does it have to do with lack of match practice due to Covid?

I still remember a test match in India where last 1 hour left & 18 over but they only bowled 15 over due to time limit.

Agreed, have never seen Steve Smith bat with this much caution against an opposition before

Aussies batting is not strong , they cannot take that many chances , those days are gone when Aussies would have GilChrist coming at 7 and blasting the bowlers

The fielding team slowing down can create an issue and that's why mandatory overs come in the picture, but Aus has no incentive to bowl fewer overs.

Aussies need to do this round the wicket bodyline stuff to Ashwin, he is surely gonna bobble one up trying to ride the bounce

Why are they bowling Green. He’s a nothing bowler

Labushagne must be the most ineffective Australian sledged in history

I would say that India in with a big chance to end Australia's unbeaten run at the Gabba in the next test:inti

Australia don’t look like taking a wicket

Vihari looking solid. Ashwin was unsure earlier but solid now as well

Pretty flat wicket and they have tried. He’s worn a few from Hazlewood and Cummins. Starc, nearly throughout post Sandpaper, has been a shadow of his former self. Not even bowling the right lines.

Keen to see this how this “ATG” AUS attack expect to get wickets here.

Now I don't think India even have 11 player for play Gabba test. Pant ,Jaddu ,Ash ,Vihari all are injured.

It's quite interesting that most predictors are saying draw is more likely than Aussie win. I would think otherwise considering Jadeja is injured

With half of the team injured?? Not sure if you are serious. Indians have punched too far above the team they have, but winning will be a bit too much. The main problem will be taking 20 wickets even if batsmen score runs. I don't see them winning.

Wow. This is longest india has batted outside India in the 4th innings since 1979

If they do that, they will also win a great series victory. Easily the greatest away series win for them if it happens.

Models are not taking account of injured players. It's stats mining.

Not sure why Green has been selected. He looks very ordinary with bat and ball. If Australians had a powerful reliable fourth pacer on this wicket, it would have reduced the pressure and load on Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins
