This is Ramiz's take.

For me as the Pakistan England one in 2016 was the best one from a Pakistan POV.

Pakistan Vs England 2012 whitewash and than the 2016 series where we redeemed ourselves

For me, The Border-Gavaskar series between Australia and India in 2020-21 was great, because from 36 all out in the 1st match to win the series was some achievement that too in the Australian home conditions.

Every Test series Pakistan has played in Australia from 1999 till present.

On a serious note, India vs Australia in India, 2001.

Some of the AUS/SAf tests have been compelling viewing for me as a neutral. If I were a partisan, they'd be the best hands down.

ENG and AUS play so often that there's been some epic series, not just a one-off test. Same AUS vs IND.

SAf vs IND has been great the last 15 years in South Africa and always one sided in IND. Sadly, they have always been 3 tests long so felt a bit incomplete.

2021 border gawaskar series was best test series ever . periods
It was second best IMO

The Ashes 2005 was epic brother. Especially for those who lived in England. Trust me, it was the first time the entire nation was following cricket like it follows International World Cup football for England

The Pakistan-Australia Test series in the UAE, with 2 matches, is memorable for me. Pakistan won 2-0, and it's special because Misbah scored the fastest Test century for Pakistan. Those days showed Pakistan's dominance in Test cricket, with players like Younis Khan, Misbah Ul Haq, Azhar Ali, and Saeed Ajmal.

2005 ashes was great but it was home series win for England so not a better series than 2021 Border gawaskar Trophy .
2005 ashes was on par with Border gawaskar series of 2001 where india won the match after follow-on

ICC already declared Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 as The Ultimate Test Series

We aren't asking about what ICC likes.

We know why they would say it.

What is your view?

2005 Ashes was probably the last time in history where cricket was played for pride and passion.

2005 Ashes. The way the English crowds got behind Flintoff is something that I haven't seen before or since.

Stokes has a similar effect in some games hut the 2005 series was unparalleled.

I also enjoyed the Aus/SA series under Smiths captaincy.

1998/1999 Indo pak also deserves a mention.

They have used some stupid algorithm that tells India vs Aus 1977 one of the series in top 5. Not even participants of that series would agree with that.

2021 India-Australia. Period. To defeat the mighty Australians in their backyard by a bunch of nobody cricketers is legendary. Real life David vs Goliath.

Ashes 2005
Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21
Frank Worrell Series 1999

That 1999 series is mostly forgotten but it produced some epic contests, 3 magnificent Brian Lara hundreds, that incredible Barbados chase & ended with Australia dropping Shane Warne for the must-win 4th test which they won to draw series level 2-2 - Warne never forgave Steve Waugh for that

Best Test series: 2005 Ashes.

Worst Test series: Too many to list. I think 2017 Bangladesh vs South Africa Test series is up there.

Best series which I watched- 2001 border-gavaskar series and 1992 england vs pakistan series.

Ashes 2005
Worse-Anything involving Ind at home on those raging turner's that make even the greats like Kohli look like mugs.

Amazed nobody mentioned that until now. There's an argument that Lara's hundred is possibly the greatest Test innings of all time, given the opposition and also his own precarious position in the team after a truly awful tour of South Africa.

Well being an Australian team fan. The 2013-14 Ashes series was just soothing to watch. A 5-0 whitewash of England by the Aussies.

The best for me was 1992 England vs Pakistan Test series. Wasim and Waqar cemented their legend in that series with the added bonus Boycott was commenting throughout the series.

2016 is second best, was there at the 4th Test on the day Pakistan won.

The series is forgotten mostly bcoz that was kinda the last hurrah from West Indies in test cricket. After that the Frank Worrell series was reduced to one sided whitewashes by the Australians

Ashes series are up there with some of the best. 2019 was a great series and although I didn't see it live 2005 was a cracker too.

BGT 20/21 was a hard fought battle too between test cricket's best sides currently. Eagerly awaiting the next installment in Australia.

An underrated series not a lot of people will mention is Sri lanka touring England in 2014. Even though it was only a 2 match series both were last over thrillers, Matthew's 160 to bring his team back from the dead was also a joy to watch

I don't know if you guys remember this series or not but it was record breaking stuff. Sri Lanka tour of United Arab Emirates 2013/14 Pakistan's home series) was one of the series where we saw the fastest successful 300+ chase in Test history.

On This Day, ten years ago, Misbah-ul-Haq's team stormed along at 5.25 an over to level the Test series against Sri Lanka in Sharjah.

5 best series of this millenium:-

Aus vs Ind 2021
Eng vs Aus 2005
IND vs Aus 2001
Aus vs SA 2008
SA vs Aus 2018

Hard to look past Australia, India and South Africa.

Special mention - England vs Pakistan 2016

2021 India-Australia. Period. To defeat the mighty Australians in their backyard by a bunch of nobody cricketers is legendary. Real life David vs Goliath.

Yeah and that Australian team was far from declining. They even had Marnus in the side for that series too. 3 years gone by and the same bowlers are still representing Australia.

The first Test between India and England has been excellent. I consider it one of the most thrilling Test matches I have ever seen.
