The concerning influence the PSL Franchises are having on the affairs of the PCB

Lahore Qalandars lobbied very hard to have Shaheen appointed at the T-20 captain and for the selections of Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan in the Pakistani Team.

Javed Afridi was pissed off when Ramiz in an interview stated that Peshawar, Quetta were no-go areas for hosting international cricket and western players were not comfortable playing there yet. Within a weeks time, the PML N govt replaced Ramiz with Sethi and Javed Afridi did not hide his happiness and his role in lobbying for Ramiz's removal. Now it has come to light that Peshawar Zalmi via Yousaf (ex batting coach of PZ) and Wahab (ex captain of PZ) kickstarted the lobbying of Babar Azam's reinstatement as Pakistan's captain. Javed Afridi had already tweeted on March 18 that Babar was going to get the Pakistani captaincy again.

PCB needs to professionalize and put the Franchises in their place. They should not be influencing and dictating the affairs of the PCB with regards to their choice of PCB Chairman, National Team Selections and National Team captaincy.

This is just the franchises monopoly in PSL... they just dont allow more than six teams so that they can get the maximum share.

Atif Rana in a recent interview claimed there is no point adding 2 more teams as we don't have enough quality players in Pakistan and that adding two more teams will dilute the competition in the PSL. Absolute rubbish

Atif Rana is the biggest culprit who just doesn't want to reduce his profit sharing with other teams. Otherwise everyone knows how many talented players couldn't even get into any franchise because of the limited spots available only in 6 teams.

Atif Rana needs to load up his team for next season. Ensure under the table deals with the best T20 overseas quartet money can buy. Make the guys enter the draft only on the condition that they will play for Qalandars, and will pull out if any other team picks them.

Qalandars will be fine if they atleast get their local picks and selections right. The decision making this season and Shaheen's captaincy was very poor, all over the place i.e. dropping Abdullah Shafique after the first few games who won them the PSL last year, dropping Kamran Ghulam who was a mainstay in their middle order, persisting game after game with an out of form Fakhar Zaman, not choosing a proper spinner to replace Rashid, Shaheen unnecessarily promoting himself up the batting order game after game when Weise, Raza were in the dug out, Zaman Khan's malinga style bowling novelty has worn off.

They need to go back to the drawing board next season.
