The excuses before the tour even started didn't bode well

From the coach coming out and saying he was prepared to cancel the tour (paraphrasing) because everyone was suffering from the containment protocols etc.

Then you had the excuse of Babar not playing any of the games.

And I haven't even mentioned the sheer lack of ineptitude of the coaching staff and the players. If players haven't responded well to your instructions, if you did indeed give them some, that doesn't look good upon the whole coaching staff.

We all know how mentally weak some of these players are, but the coaching staff, and mainly Misbah, has been shown up.

When you persist with Shan Masood and Abid Ali, who have both struggled, the former an absolute garbage player and the latter struggling for runs lately.

Then you keep picking Naseem when we can all see his struggles. He needs a break and told to get back to basics and concentrate on his bowling..

To finish off these performances shouldn't surprise anyone, and I for one saw it coming a mile off, unfortunately.

Until Misbah and Waqar don’t get sacked, this team is going to regress day by day. Even goood players like Babar will deteriorate.

I cannot emphasise how important coaching staff is towards the improvement of a team and it’s players. There are endless stories of players who have transformed themselves from mediocrity to great players because of the challenge of international cricket and the influence of a good coaching staff.

Wasim Khan isn’t even to blame here because the end game for him isn’t to see the success of Pakistan in winning tours and matches, but to get international cricket back to Pakistan and to increase revenue for the country.

Hope everyone enjoys this brilliant period of Pakistan cricket.

And not to mention that our entire coaching staff was such a bunch of duffers that no one thought about being on a soil where bounce and skid is different from UAE and home pitches, so they went ahead and injured their own ace batsman in the practice and nets before the series even began.

I mean, how stupid can you get, if you are not alert to such basics?

This was an absolute unforgiveable blunder. If you can't manage the players, if you are unaware of the conditions that vary by venue and by country, and if you can't take proactive action to avoid such basic injuries to you own players, then you simply don't belong.

Injuries happen and I don’t think the staff are to totally blame there as I’m sure players should also have some brains when it comes to training. The fact our players need man managing is another issue for another day. The fact they are so intellectually inept makes coaching Pakistan that much harder.

As for our coaches - You only have to listen to Waqar on commentary or Misbah in post match interviews to know that these guys are clueless.

The best coaches/captains are fantastic to listen to when they commentate or give interviews - it tells you everything about how they would be as coaches.

Pakistan needs coaches like Tom Moody, Ricky ponting etc for any hope. I don’t think YK is a bad batting coach but Waqar and Misbah need to go and we need a good fielding coach again. Seems like the day the fielding coach goes our players forget what fielding is.

Not a big fan of Misbah, Waqar but being locked up in a hotel and not having access to training and Cricket practicing facilities will take a toll and is not good preparation at all for a subcontinent side touring NZ
