Pakistan historically has the edge. Even in CT, we always bossed them. India will have to pay well to win this. Pakistan needs to stick to basics.

Dang I didn't realize Pakistan was still so far Ahead in wins,

The rivalry was fun till 2008, after that mohali match was intense. After that no india vs pakistan was as intense.

Even the one which misbah won in india wasnt really that fub. No hype nothing..

The rivalry now means nothing now.

Pak will maintain the lead for the next 10 yrs at least. We only play Pak once every 2 years.

So that 72-51 record will stay for another 10 yrs for sure.

2011 WC and 2014 Asia Cup encounters were great to watch.

73-51 after Sunday.

Goes to show how much we smashed them in the 80s and 90s that even a decade and a half of Indian dominance in the 2000-2010s era hasn't helped them bridge the gap. LMAO

Why painful? I've been a cricket fan for 25+ years and I don't find it painful at all.

THe gap is much narrower than a decade ago.

If India keeps up their dominnce they will be equal in 8 yrs or so assuming we even play each other.

What dominance? We beat them in the last series we played and as the OP states, the record for the last 14 games reads 8 to India and 6 to Pakistan. Most of the big games that have been played have been very close as well. So after the 80s and 90s, the relationship has changed from one team consistently hammering the other to a true rivalry of equals. Arguably, having a strong rival makes the eventual contests much more fun to watch.

lol at the random last 14 matches .... kuch bhi ... why don't you just say that only matches won by Pak matter :)))

Do you realize that there is not much huge difference between a W/L ratio of 8/6 (1.33) and 72/51 (1.41) ?

But then ofcourse you also said elsewhere that only the 2011 WC SF loss mattered amongst all the WC losses.

in the last 10 yrs which big game was very close other than the 2007 T20 WC Final and the bowl out match in that same WC ?

if we continue to win in worldcup match then what happen in past dosn't matter .11-0

To be honest the world cup record is kind of indias loss.

Each time we face india in a world cup, the indian captain would be under pressure, as pakistan would have a better odds at winning the game and no one wants to be the first indian captain to lose to pakistan in a world cup.

The streak will end one day offcourse, thus india would be in mlre pressure in future wc meetings with us.

Thats quite true .... however it depends on the captain/team .... most will take that as an advantage ... whereas if you look at it from a Pakistan point of view then it will be all doom and gloom.

yea ..every record made for only to break but 2003 first time i'm start to watch full cricket match... before here and there watch some over... that pak team look so strong campare to india who only depend sachin that time ,even could not beat india , so its more now mental game for pak in wc match rather than cricket .i dn't c pak team wining either in 2019 under kohli maybe after

As usual, you clearly doesn't understand that maintaining a 1.41 W/L ratio over several decades is much more impressive than maintaining a 1.33 W/L ratio over a few years. How unsurprising.

The 2011 WC semi-final, 2009 CT match, a couple of Asia cup matches were all close games. Nothing like the one-sided beatdowns that Pakistan used to give India when you were a teenager.

Lately Pakistan didn't seem to sustain the pressure. The team who cope it will win and i think Ind is under lessor pressure and IPL boost their mental fitness which they lack earlier specially against Pakistan.

You clearly don't understand what dominance means...

maintaining a spotless W/L of 100% Over 25 yrs in WC matches where a lot more is at stake is much much harder. This is called dominance ... in other words you have no understanding of what it feels like to beat the old enemy in WC let alone be the cause for elimination. Try as hard as you want to but there is no equal to this nor will you ever be able to achieve this sort of dominance in your lifetime. See if you can find ways to come to terms with it.

2011 WC S/F was close ? the match was done when Afridi holed out in the 42nd over ... just because Misbah was tuk-tuking till the end doesn't mean the match was close ... you lost by 29 runs not single digit :)))

This record is gonna stay, currently India will beat Pakistan say 25 times out of 30 games but those will take 15 more years to be played,I say the record will stay for 20+ years

Why painful? I've been a cricket fan for 25+ years and I don't find it painful at all.

Because when it comes to cricket there is nothing quite like India versus Pakistan.

I guess you prefer Pakistan versus Zimbabwe.

We can equal you guys in another 40-50 odd matches but that will take 25 years. Hate our loony right wing extremist government in power.

Lol, enjoy your five match dominance. I'm sure that is the only thing you've ever had the edge over even the lowest Pakistani in anything. I'm happy for you. :)

Yes, it was a pretty close game seeing how Pakistan bowled out India for a below-par total and started the run-chase well. Then, the game was still there for the taking until the 42nd over like you said. A close match.

Is there anything bigger than that ? Kitply cup, Cola Cup , Hajmola Cup ? :)))

See you need to get out and watch the big guys play to understand the difference between a phainta and a close match .... but yeah for a No.8/9 ranked team I guess lasting 42 overs is a big achievement I suppose :))
