The match between USA and Ireland at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in Lauderhill called off due to rain

How many months they were preparing for this tournament? The loss against USA should hurt really bad. Specially that last over and then the Super Over.
 
Ugh so Pakistan ultimately spent more time with the Army training than what they did in the tournament.

They have nobody to blame except themselves. You just don't lose to a team like USA and then deserve to be in the playoffs.

Also this loss will send Shockwaves across the globe . Call into question where exactly Pakistani cricketing talent stands today. Also the quality of their premier competition the PSL has also got a reality check. The likes of Azam Khan would have struggled to get into Bermuda team , yet somehow represented Pakistan and ended up being a global laughing stock.

Hard times ahead.

We got kicked out by a oracle coder from india…imagine that. We have cricketers who r uneducated and focus 100% on cricket only. Forgot few guys focus only on food.
 
USA v Ireland abandoned in Florida as co-hosts qualify for Super Eight stage

The USA have made history by qualifying for the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the nation’s first-ever appearance at the World Cup, joining India in the top two of Group A ahead of Pakistan, Ireland and Canada.

A wet outfield delayed the toss in Florida and, after a number of inspections and the best efforts of the local groundstaff, the game was confirmed as abandoned.

The washout ended any qualification permutations in Group A, with Ireland’s hopes of reaching the Super Eight coming to an end and Pakistan also confirmed as exiting the tournament at the group stage.

A USA defeat to Ireland in this fixture would have handed Pakistan the chance to leapfrog into the top two when they face Ireland in Lauderhill on Sunday.

But the American side now have an unassailable five points, having beaten Canada and Pakistan earlier in the tournament, meaning that they become the sixth team to qualify for the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

You need to be on top of your game. Thrashing from England and Ireland before were clear signs of early exit.

Biggest humiliation in the history of Pak Cricket. Being eliminated at the expense of the USA tells us where we stand in the game. We are indeed now a team that can no longer be considered as a top one at all. Full of unfit and overrated players who are always in complete disarray perhaps this will be some sort of wake up call for these players. They absolutely deserve all the criticism and condemnation they get.

Here their players are having minor fun, but overall are enjoying and are thrilled by the opportunity given to them.

No shots taken at other teams and no nonsense. Just a bit of fun and good backing.

Meanwhile pakistani boys would have been eating cake 24/7 and gloating over the moon as well as probs taken a cheap shot to India if they had beaten them.

I guess you missed the thing here. No cheap celebrations like celebration jersey or cake cutting. Just a plain and simple celebration that makes sense. Deserved it.
 
Don't think we will play 2026 T20 World Cup. No way this team can compete with SL, NZ, Ireland, Netherlands to qualify main round. Just like Hockey and Squash we are not good enough to enter in World Cups.

yes Pakistan and NewZealand has to play the qualifiers.. England will join as if they dont qualify.

the teams that go to Super 8 in 2024 + hosts (India and Srilanka) + top 3 ranked T20I teams = are auto qualifed to 2026

Pakistan and Newzealand are not in top 3 ranks + England lose their no.3 spot to West Indies recently.

1. Babar is an unimaginative and poor Captain, who has repeatedly proven his incapacity to lead at both the domestic and International level.
2. The PCB management is incompetent and undeserving. If they continue, we will see the same results.
3. The PCB Chairman does not have any credentials, legitimacy and capacity to hold this position. He is a political appointee who does not have any focus for the job.
4. The Selection committee appointed by this person has demonstrated incompetence and favoritism. The middle order was bare and most of the batsmen were openers who could not adapt to the requirements of the middle order.
5. The fitness of the players was poor. Their stint at the camp was a joke.
6. Their mental approach was timid and tentative and it cannot succeed in T20. How can you lose from such a dominant position against India? The bowlers were fabulous. Even novices would have strategized a better chase . This feeble approach is a consequence of a dysfunctional and corrupt Board focused on projection rather than performance.
7. What is the plan by the PCB for the CT 2025 to be hosted in Pakistan. Will we face the same ignominy in 2025?
8. Does this Board have the capacity to plan and succeed in qualifying for the 2026 T20. Will we even be able to participate in that tournament?
9. The PCB has failed to develop cricket at the grassroot level.
10. The PCB has not been able to develop a volume of competitive Test cricket that can enhance the quality of the game. Unless you have technically correct players, you will never succeed in any format of cricket.
11. The incompetent PCB is a reflection of the entire governance structure.

Wahab Riaz one name that spoiled this whole team, giving Shaheen the captaincy , then turn back to Babar , bring in Amir and Imad from nowhere and to make them play under Babar who they openly criticize for fun in tv shows venting their anger on not representing Pak is solely because Babar....

Yes Mohsin Naqvi appointed Wahab , no he was incharge under Zaka Ashraf too and retained his position due to his politics.. but one thing good in Naqvi's side is bringing Gary and Gillespie..
 
Forget about how Pakistan performed for a second. It is unacceptable to abandon the game without a ball bowled due to wet outfield. I understand you can't do anything about rain but it didn't rain and only started to pour in the end. The whole ground shouldve been covered.
